Final Fantasy IV was first developed in 1990, by Square Co., Ltd as they were then known. It originally appeared on the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) but has also been released on both the Sony PlayStation (often bundled with Final Fantasy V) as well as the somewhat less famous WonderSwan Colour. There was also a hybrid of the game released in Japan a year after the original release on the Super Famicon, with the new name Final Fantasy IV Easytype.

The game was originally released titled Final Fantasy II in North America, though we’re going by the European releases.
