A beautiful, spirited young woman. Rinoa is a lively individual with the ability to touch people’s hearts. Open and honest with her feelings, she speaks her mind without reservation. Driven by her ambitions, she can be difficult at times.

Our verdict:

As female lead of Final Fantasy VIII, Rinoa vastly makes up for Squall’s boringness. She brought energy to the game, but not like Selphie’s annoying energy. Something about her really made me care about her. In battle, she is physically weak, but her magic is good. Her Combine limits aren’t too good mainly because they are chosen at random and aren’t too useful or powerful (except Wishing Star and Invincible Moon). Her second limit, Angel Wing, is very useful, but also unreliable. Rinoa is, in my opinion, one of the better female Final Fantasy characters.
