The whole thing with Emos as Goths actually does show their craving for attention. I'm not saying that it is the same for genuine Goths, but there mentality is that if they look dark and forlorn then people will think they're cool and must have had a difficult life. Once people try to talk to them, they just ignore so as to provoke them with more mystery and all that jazz. I don't buy it
