If your father should disown you for a question of beliefs, then it is my personal moral opinion that he should expect the same. Family is just a word.
But as mentioned already, it is your decision, weather it be based on love, beliefs on monitary circumstances. No one can shun or stone you for doing what you think is best for you, which is, in this type of situation, I woukld think to be the most important.
But again, it will be something you must decide on your own, as just about everything you mentioned is of a relative nature.
