Hmm all really good points.

I used the language that I'd been taught to use when I was at Uni studying a module on music and entertainment law, and of course some of what I learned about the law on identity fraud when I worked at Natwest. The rules work in that it forms a legal contract- there doesn't have to be any signing, the fact that it's there means it is a legal document and has to be abided by. I just hope if the project gets underway I can explain it to people who have trouble understanding it.

I understand that Alex really does have to give the go-ahead on this, it is a big big project. Hopefully he can help with the Discalimer I've started that would release him of any responsibility for things going wrong, and so trouble would not come back to him or the forum. Hopefully it will just be a legality anyway, because we've got a good set of people here and Tidus will be a really good mod for the swapshop. Ok so I can't speak for people who join after all this is set up, but it should be fine as long as it's made clear that responsibility lies with the swappers themselves and not with the forum.

Yes- payment method. Paypal is probably the safest way I know of and most people have an account, though in some swaps there won't be any money exchanged anyway and there will only be the cost of shipping to worry about. Well that's the impression I get anyway.

A site dedicated to the swapshop? Elaborate!!
