Harry Potter satanic
Personally i find this really amuzing my gran is a deeply religious christian and so believes in all the mumbo jumbo garbage that goes with the above title so when leafing through my books on a routine visit she found the harry potter series no snigering please and she went into what can only be described as lecture of sin and blasphemy after she finished i found out her problem is that her local priest had used the harry potter bools and the lord of the rings as examples apparantly lord of the rings is not satanic because the main hero uses heart and will not magic and harry potter is satanic because they use magic the occult as far as i can see thats bollocks the only diffrence is lord of the rings was written by a christian
wat do you think harry potter satanic?

umm...Tolkein was an avid non-christian. His best freind, C.S Lewis of Lion the witch and the wardrobe fame was.
Apparently Tolkein based "treebeard" off Lewis when he heard his booming voice coming down the hall during one of his lectures.

Lord of the rings- Middle earth was based on Birmingham in the U.K. Where Ozzie originated. Random fact there.
Harry potter would be satanic if it opposed christianity in any way. It doesn't. It never mentions religious problems. After all, Wasn't Jesus a Wizard?
Lord of the rings is a battle between good and evil. The evil is a 'god' of sorts, the good has the wizards. If anything, LOTR is more blasphemic than HP.

Nah, priests are supposed to be the messengers and the carriers.
I get your point though- but then again, LOTR is all about going against a supposedly an all-powerful, all-seeing being.

Heres the proof not only was tolkien raised as a catholic he was looked after ny a priest
aand his wife conveted to catholism to marry him
Then they moved to the somewhat more pleasant Birmingham suburb of Edgbaston. However, in the meantime, something of profound significance had occurred, which estranged Mabel and her children from both sides of the family: in 1900, together with her sister May, she was received into the Roman Catholic Church. From then on, both Ronald and Hilary were brought up in the faith of Pio Nono, and remained devout Catholics throughout their lives. The parish priest who visited the family regularly was the half-Spanish half-Welsh Father Francis Morgan.
Tolkien family life was generally lived on the genteel side of poverty. However, the situation worsened in 1904, when Mabel Tolkien was diagnosed as having diabetes, usually fatal in those pre-insulin days. She died on 14 November of that year leaving the two orphaned boys effectively destitute. At this point Father Francis took over, and made sure of the boys' material as well as spiritual welfare,
Meanwhile the relationship with Edith was going more smoothly. She converted to Catholicism and moved to Warwick, which with its spectacular castle and beautiful surrounding countryside
taken from the life of tolkien extract

Ive always found anything to do with this whole "oh its clearly satanism" thing ridicoulusly childish and all it does is lower the whole christian ideology in my eyes, Harry Potter was not written to turn childrens minds over to an imaginary deity that christians feel they need to believe in, seriously they are so insecure in their faith that they feel the need to point out evil in every little thing
This my friends is the last call of a dying ideology helplessly clinging to its old ways of being hateful and resentful to anything that distracts people from itself, only nowadays people are smart enough to see how bloody stupid the whole thing is and laugh at these people who claim to be talking from a religous viewpoint
Christianity would get a lot more respect if it just died with some dignity for the first time in its exsistance.
