Last week I watched a miniseries on the first Discworld book. It was really good, and sooooo funny. It had Sean Austin from the Lord of the Rings movies as the tourist. And there were many other great characters as well. I love British shows because they never take themselves too seriously, it just looks like they are all having so much fun. I especially thought Jeremy Irons as a flambouyant and evil dictator politician was particularly hilarious. Did anyone else see this? JET?

Noooo.... It's not out in the US yet, the only Sky One discworld miniseries we have is Hogfather, it was played here just this past christmas (hogfather=santa clause of the discworld. long story, but the short of it is that the midwinter festival is much more closely associated with the whole pagan sacrifice/slaughter of livestock for food theme than many "modern" practices). I really really really hope Coulour of Magic comes out in the US soon.
I am, howev er, currently reading Garden of the Purple Dragon by Carol Wilkinson. It is the sequel to Dragon Keeper, but although I haven;t read the first book it is still rather interesting.

I'm currently reading a series called Rogue Angel, anout an archaeologist on an archaeology/poaranormal history show who fount Joan of Arc's sword, which had been broken by a guy at the battle of orleans. He and his apprentice became cursed with immoprtallity, and the archaeologiust (annja creed), found the pieces of the sword. When she found the last piece, the fused back into the sword, and now she attracts objects of mysterious power and people who want the sword (including the possibly mortal aforementioned immortals), and can pull the sword out of hammerspace whenever necessary. "s a good series, teaches sopme history (but you've got to know which is history and which is creativce license for the ojects of power quest stuff).
Also, if audiobooks count, I amn also "reading" The Last Continent: A Discworld Novel by Terry Pratchett, where the wizard Rincewind has to bring rain to a continent that may, in some places, slightly appear a little bit... austrailian-y. (basically, an australia based on stereotypes and myths from the dreaming to drop-bears.) Oh,m and there is a talking kangaroo that may be helping him.

More Rogue Angel books... Did I already post about that?...yeah. Also, webcomics. The entire MacHall archive (in reverse, present to past, which really ups the weirdness factor. warning, the ad last posted before the site was abandoned is NSFW), the last month of QC, as well as the last few days of my usual comics.
Reading the X-Files bo0oks, based on episodes from the series, as well as Kage Baker's The Company series, but I'm really really enjoying the DeathNote manga. Finished the first seven today, and fervently hoping that the library gets the rest of the series soon.

I know this doesn't really count as "reading," but regardless it's still a good book:
