My review of the william w. johnston book 'Survival in the ashes'
Quote:
William W. Johnstone wrote/Ben Raines stated:
When this nation was intact, our public schools-mostly due to court decisions- failed the nation for several decades. Our school systems became staffed with personnel obsessed with excellence in athletics and rot of the mind. We allowed games to reach the stature of a religion. It was downhill from that point.
Our society became the most materialistic society on Earth. Many of our elderly died alone and afraid, hungry and cold; the young could not recieve proper medical care; victims of crime were ignored while we sobbed and moaned over the poor criminal, and endangered species of animals were slaughtered into extinction, while a good fifty percent of Americans spent literally billions of dollars
pleasuring themselves on the most idiotic and meaningless of games or events...stepping over the the homeless and sick and mentally ill and young and old and sick and dying on their way to these dubious preceedings.

What does this mean? not to be rude, but america is very slowly dying. If such a war as what happened in these books
DOES happen, what Johnstone described will come to be.
All in all this is a very realistic book.
