TV shows/ movies that scared you as a kid
in this thread we're gonna be talking about those TV nasties that scared you when you were itty bitty.
For me? The moomins. I doubt anyone will recognise this show as it might be a tad too old. the series itself was all fine and good except fo one creature: the groke. it was the personification of lonliness, a silent being eternally searching for warmth and friendship, but being refused at every turn. it only made creepy growling noises and brought with it a horrible snowstorm.
what scared YOU?

That is pretty messed up that thing!
For movies it has to be An American Werewolf in London. Again a really old one, but at the time my parents were together and they used to put the film on on purpose so I would cry like a baby. But then I freaked out about Watership Down, so that says it all.

OH MY FUCKING GOD NOT THOSE BARAPAPA THINGS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
*Runs out of thread.*
I was going to tell my Michael Myers story, as well as the few television shows which have traumatized me in my childhood...some of them were in the same nature as Sephiroth's solitude being...when you grasp the concept of such things as a child, it is a bit much...
But no, memory overflow. Damn you Firesnake and your Parapa things. I hate those things. So much, they made weird noises.
Barbapapa-it also means cotton candy in French...I was much too young but, is that what they were? Do I even wish to know?

On TV once when I was a kid there was a show called "Unsolved Mysteries", and the show would reinact various mysteries that are "unsolved". In this one particular episode a very ugly looking man robbed a home and shot the homeowners, and left. He was never found (at least as of the show's airing). I remember having nightmares about him robbing our house.
Anywho, that's that.

As for movies and videwos, I could be easily surprised, but it was mainly unsolved stuff where the killer or whoever escapes, or isn't even alive in the first place and only happened to incarnate into a physical form (demopns, species-wide psychological creatures, etc).
other than that, the only things that really scared me were the illustrations in the Scary Stories to Read In The Dark illustrations (freaky), and the woodcut of the old man from Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart.

I JUST HATE SUCH THINGS AS BARBAPAPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But enough of it. The spookiest films I've ever seeb is "13 Gosts" and "Saw". After those films I was afraid to fall asleep for some time ^.^ And the TV shows...............can't say I see them so scary.
