Lead charecters

Whats my problem with Tidus?
I actaully liked the charceter but I feel they gave him the wrong personality, he was a whiner, he complained all the time and didnt really meet the standards set by previous FF's.

my problem with tidus was that hes a complete crybaby. Complaining about jecht throughout the game constantly and at the end right before the end fight with him (by then you'd have expected some sort of character development) starts crying! Sorry hes not my cup of tea at all, his actual physical apperance, fighting style etc. were fine but as auron says his personality sucks.

I have to disagree with both of you, the whole point is he starts off as some kid who wants to go home, but progresses into a man who'd do whatever it takes to make sure the girl he loves can stay alive, even if it means sacrificing himself. He comes to his father, the man he loathed his entire life, and his dad finally says all the 'i love you' stuff, ofcourse he's gonna cry, cut him some slack

fair enough, thats a good point. I just didnt ever 'get' him as a lead character and really think that squall,cloud etc. were much much better.

I agree, VITG has made a good point there.

Something else about Tidus (bit off topic):
I dont like the way that in FFX-2 everyone reffers to him as "him" or "you-know-who".
They should call the lead charecters by names, its not like anyone changes the names at the beggining.

yea good point! that really annoyed me about FF X, noone ever said his name because you had the option to name him, but you couldnt name anyone else so their names were said. i mean really square, whats the point???

...so that you could name him, and not have redundant sound packs. I thought the point was pretty obvious.

i though the whole point of Tidus being you know who was because it might possibly not be him i think it was anyway' but whatever it was it was a little useless

Yeah, but how many people here actually named him something other than Tidus?
I didnt, and I bet loads of others didnt.
How is Tidus actually pronounced anyway?
Is it:
Tee-duss
Tie-duss
Ti-dus

I thought it was Ti-dus, but ive never been sure.
