hmmm ffvi or iv both are great games but im gona go with ffvi its so damn good waay better then certain ffs *glares at ffvii*damn that recyled game with it utter rubbish! (nah some of its okay but jesus the hype surrounding that game!) anyways yeah ffvi it had some great sences kefka was a great villian very patronizing which is what every good villian needs to be plus he managed to destroy a whole world how many villians can lay claim to that? (well there is kuja a suppose but he was a bit wimpy if im honest) the characters were amazing terra story as she progessed through the game was really great! The battle system was good with the espers because it meant everyone could learn magic and you could summon then yay! finally i loved the fact the everyonr had their own skill like sabins blitz which rocked!

Are you serious?? FF wouldnt be what it is today in Europe without FFVII, dont even try and say im wrong. As for the best FF, its VIII just ahead of VII and IX

FFVI is what made FF is so popular, not FFVII.
I have to agree with her, FFVII was so hyped up for what seem's like absolutely nothing, FFVIII offer's everything what FFVII does, a better story, better gameplay and better character's. Ok, everything except the villain, FFVIII's villain sucked.
But FFVII fail's in many department's:

1) Extremely rubbish pre-rendered background's and blocky character model's.
2) Rubbish material system, making no character's unique featuring no set job's or physical strength, i could pick Cloud, Tifa and Aerith over Cloud, Cid and Barret and there would be no difference. The only thing which made the character's even remotely different was the equipment system; which sucked to be honest.
3) People complain about FFVIII's and FFIX's character's being strange or boring when FFVII's were a lot worse, many character's featured no background story and many character's joined out of the blue or for no reason.
4) Aerith's death was only to make up for the game's serious lack of character background and emotional plot. I really did actually laugh when Aerith died.
5) I hate the idea of Sephiroth being the best villain, he had no personality and you only saw him like 4 time's throughout the whole game which was stupid of Square IMO, he also wasn't the most badass, anyone could have stole his sword from him and become a instant skilled warrior, because frankly the only reason Sephiroth was as strong as he was is because of his overpowered sword. He was actually weak until he became a God which again; anyone could do.

^to add to that:

1) Most of the system was recycled from ffiv and vi regarding batttles

2) the only new thing(and i checked this) that was added to ffvii was the limit break, materia is pretty much like espers and the job system off v because they gave you powers you wouldn't normally have!

3)The storylines of characters were muddled and confused, i think clouds storyline could and should have been explained better.

4) Jesus sepiroth was the most overated villian ever the walk the earth! Whats so great about him anyway, err can he say that he demolished a whole world in the process of domination over everything living thing, well? No didn't think so!

thats just a few, im going to regret saying this because now fan boys will come swarming the website and sending me hate mail through pms! Damn those fanboys

Not really, since there was job's in both FFIV and FFVI and FFVII's battle system made the game extremely easy.

That is true, although the limit break was nothing special, the only real good one was Omnislash, once you got Ultima weapon and 2(4)x cut the other's became useless.

Basically, the story was only focused around Cloud and the game didn't even do that correctly, the game said that Cloud is a clone although he wasn't in SOLDIER, how that was possible i don't know. Square should have made a backstory to the other character's.

Exactly, Bah, Sephiroth had to summon a Meteor to try and destroy the earth and he didn't even suceed; at least Kefka destroyed the world using his own power. Nothing was great about sephiroth, not his attitude, power, nothing.

I think VIII was the weakest of the new ones
i disagree. i'd say ix is. it is nearly an exact copy of seven with the characters and storyline
zidane:cloud
garnet:aries
quina(who is my fave ix character):caitsith
stiener:barret
eiko:tifa
vivi:red
adamant guy:vincent
also, i liked the fact that viii is the only game with all human characters.
if i had to choose this would be my order
vii/viii
x
x-2
vi (i get really frustrated when riding chocobos on that one)
ix

The charecters and storyline was completely different, FF9 was a great FF game, its your oppinion, but im fed up with people not giving FF9 the respect it deserves, but as I said, it your oppinion, I wont digress.

Just saying but where did you get this idea? None of the character's or storyline of FFIX and FFVII had anything in common, the character's all had different personalities and the storylines were based around complete different subject's. Although, they were written by completely different people so that doesn't make much sense anyway.
