Maybe this is just me... but i'm pretty sure i speak for alot of people when i say that hte way you get stronger is confusing and kinda dumb.

I leveled up one weapon each fight just by beating my own ***.

Not really confusing, but definitley one of the more silly battle systems from FF creators and why were you using your characters to level up surley thats what the enemy is for .

What he means is he was quickly lowering his own health, which in FF2 has the effect of giving your characters more health after the battle.
