I actually liked Tidus. He was a cool character and wasn't terrible in combat. Haste and Hastega were actually very useful and gave hard hitting characters like Auron more turns. With certain strength nodes activated, Tidus is not that bad in combat either. He was a cool character which was a change for the calm, cool and collected leads such as Squall and Cloud, he was an outgoing, fun and brightspirited person. Nomura said when he was creating the characters that he wanted to do this. I think that Tidus progessed throughout the story. In the beginning, he was spoiled, selfish and naive. In the end, he became a little less selfish and tried everything to save Yuna instead of trying to get back to his Zanarkand. I was dissapointed that he had to fade away and wasn't a playable character in X-2.

I thought Tidus was okay........his problems were crying,feeling sorry for himself,a spoiled brat in some parts of the game-did I mention crying?He did a lot of that.

Other than the numerous times he cried I wouldn't necessarily call him a wimp. But maybe it's just me because I have a soft spot for FFX and it will remain my fav FF game because it was the first FF game I played. I love all the characters including Tidus. Once again, I guess it's just me.

it was your first ff? it was mine too ! But still he was really whiny and cried a lot! i didnt like him a lot!
