Just do my strat, its more reliable, a trained monkey could use it and not lose. Seriously the machina on the lake is one of the easiest fights in the game

w00t ive done it!!, i levelled my characters up so they were this:
Tidas-920hp
Auron-2551hp
Kimahri-1444hp
Lulu-1180hp
Yuna-1338 hp
Rikku-1160 hp, this is how i did it:
i got all the characters into overdrive, including ixion, butr not ifrit or valefor,
i bought 2 x potions, 1 2000hp team potion, 12 grenades,
i took out the negator with wakka, and used wakkas, rikkus and kimihri's overdrives on the machina, then i brought our ixion and used thors hammer, then ixion got killed by the mana blast,
next i used tidus's, and aurons overdrives, now the machina was at about 6000hp,
then i used yunas grand summon and brought out Ifrit, and used hellfire, now the hp was at about 4000hp
then i used valefor with blizzara several times and got it down to 2500 hp
then i used about 6 grenades and mix again , with a grenade and a power sphere, that got it down to 200hp
then i used wakka and auron to finish it off just before it used mana beam again

plus just before it used mana beam earlier, thestupid machine sent out a negator, and stopped itself
