Fabula Nova Crystallis
Along with Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Agito XIII for the mobile phone, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, an action game for the PlayStation 3 made by the Kingdom Hearts team, make up the saga thus far, Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII.
According to Square Enix, Final Fantasy XIII is neither a prequel or a sequel to Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Square Enix has explained that although all three games take place in the same universe, they are not directly related.

Combat

Combat in Final Fantasy XIIIFrom the footage shown at E³, battles in the game appear to be in real-time, similar to Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XII but without the colored arcs from player to enemy. This was demonstrated by the heroine both running around the train and attacking enemies on the same playing field. The real-time element may have been confirmed by Square Enix, who stated that the game will have "real-time gameplay".


Each action the player makes (for example, casting a spell) seems to cost points, which fills up an "ATB" meter on the lower part of the screen. According to sources, the name of the new battle system is apparently called "Stop-Fusion".

Characters

New GunbladeNot many details have been revealed about the characters of the game. From the trailer shown at E³, the main character will apparently be a young woman wielding an impressive version of a gunblade. It functions as both a gun and a sword, though not at the same time -- instead, it can transition from one to the other, as shown in a brief scene in the trailer.

The character's name is rumored to be Lightning; several screenshots of the battle screen display the name Lightning next to the ATB meter. This word could also refer to a spell (though this is unlikely, since a spell is listed to the left called "Thunder"), a Limit Break, or possibly a special sort of attack unique to the game. A point against these arguments is that "Lightning" appears in a consistent spot on the screen even as the character performs several different attacks. And if it is a name, it does fit with the names of other Final Fantasy heroes, who are often named after elements or natural phenomenon (for example, Cloud, Squall, and Tidus).

Other rumors give her the name "Natch". This appears to stem from an incorrect understanding of a review of the initial press conference; the word is actually mentioned in reference to Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and doesn't appear to be a name, but a comment on the number of spiky-haired characters created by Tetsuya Nomura.

Man we're getting off topic. Well the new game looks pretty good but probably won't be as good as FFVII.(cause no game is as good as FFVII.)

Like X and X-2. They over commercialized it and because of that they became big and Square became a sell-out. VII was nothing like that and it sold millions.
