i dont think i was on the forum at that point....mainly because i havent seen that....but anyway..the reason i don't like him is because:
- He's an idiot
- He doesnt fit in with the other team members i.e stuffed toy
- his limit breaks are rubbish compared to the others
- he attacks people with a MICROPHONE
- He can have more than one form ... he reappeared after he was crushed in the temple... noone else can do that...its unfair

Dan, I believe most of the points you've made to illustrate Cait Sith's weak points can actually be used to promote him.

Firstly, I do not agree he is an idiot; he always appears to be highly articulate and fashions his points of view in an intelligent, coherent manner. If you're using the word idiot in terms of his behaviour / intellect, that is.

Secondly, he is a stuffed toy and probably does not fit in with the other characters. Well, is that a bad thing? Would we rather all the Final Fantasy characters looked the same, acted the same, and basically were the same? Or would we rather have a diverse and immersive spectrum of backgrounds and cultures, much like we do in the West in real life? Personally, I think his uniqueness is a breath of fresh air.

Thirdly, some of his limit breaks aren't great, but he can also be very powerful. I think as with the character itself, it needs to be built up, not just expected to perform wonders immediately. His limit breaks were more of a challenge than a lot of his allies, thus making him more interesting in my eyes.

As for your forth point, I do not see why his using a megaphone to perform his attacks is particularly an issue; a lot of characters have used odd weapons and magic in the Final Fantasy series and have not be ridiculed for it. Would we rather there were only swords and knives to attack with? I think not! Again, another point in favour of unique Cait Sith.

He can reappear because he wasn't actually killed. He's a robot, and can then clearly be rebuilt. It's not fair that Aeris survives so long in the game (why couldn't she have been wiped out in the slums?), but that's life. It could be argued it's not fair that Cait Sith is constantly the whipping boy of assault by Final Fantasy VII fans who totally miss the point of him.

He was a hero; he realised that what he did was wrong and worked hard to remedy that situation. Look at how he attempted to sacrifice himself. Genius.

Well, that's just what I think anyway. You're still free to hate Cait Sith, Dan, but please take my points into consideration as I have yours!

Well in a sence. Third person and over the shoulder like in RE4.
Well I think Cait Sith is cool cause he has Sith in his name and is a moogle.(Not many no that.) They should call him darth cait sith and sence darth means In then he's In cait sith.(The Darth=In thing is from a flash. Darth vader=invader, Darth sideus=Insideus, Darth maul...He doesn't count cause he got cut in half like a tatooed little bitch. Well here's some others...Darth sane, Darth incedinary grenade.)

I'm excited about Dirge of Cerberus.

I'm also excited about the fact that it is more action than an RPG.Good gameplay rules over a story and graphics.But,in Final Fantasy games,you have to have a good storyline or the story is bad and the game flops.
