Urgh! I Need HELP!

Hey guys. I'm in the Ogir-Yensa Sandsea and Vaan has been silenced. I've done everything to try and get rid of it but I can't. I've used Echo Herb after Echo Herb, tried using vox again and again, tried various save crystals and restarting my PS2 even letting him die and reviving him. Every time I use a herb or vox it says "miss". Has anyone run into this before and how do I fix it? HELP!!!!!

Uhm, would you happen to the the Manufactured Nethicite equipped as his accessory? The Manufactured Nethicite accessory halves all magic damage but puts your character in a constant state of silence that cannot be cured. Just take it off of him.
