omg now wait..

Aren't you the inter dimensional muffin stealer who cannot be killed, I knew I recognized this voice. Howdy dude and no you do not have to pay every month if you send me just one blue berry muff each Friday I will see to it that Square gives you free account.

.... or you could pay 12.99 month like the rest of us to ride airships when we want, raise chocobos of different colors and ride them and kill bunnies until your cross eye'd

I just wanted to update this thread. You can now download the game from Direct2Drive and then pay the monthly fee. Square also has the starter pack that can get you into the game for 30 days for 1.99 in the USA from Gamestop.

If you never tried out this one game in the whole series its worth the few days just poke around. Remember I am on Sylph server if you ever are interested.

This is certainly a good way of finding access to this game. When I initially started I had to go out hunting for one of the old PS2 versions in the giant box set in order to get the HDD drive. For some reason I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I had to buy it on eBay.

So I’ve always played it on my TV. But I have noticed that there would be some advantages to playing it on your computer. I’ve noticed that the status bar and message screen seem to take up less space on the PC version; or perhaps the image is just more clear. Either way, it would be nice to have some extra screen to play with on the PS2.

I also only have one wire for my modem, and since I am usually glued to my computer all day, I do feel quite conflicted when I have to pick one over the other. It would be nice to have both at the same time, especially since it is a web-based game and often requires online resources… like forums and wiki XD

But anyways, good info Teb. This would be a great chance to try this game. EVERYONE PLAY IT DAMN IT!!!

Just to let you all know, I've gave up on this game.

Really I would love to know why ? I know that is not easy to startup and many of the points that Glayden brought up on another thread are very true.

Why I hate Fina.... (Why I Hate Final Fantasy XI)

We have seen a lot of people leave in the last year but even more come to the game new cause of the new expansions I think and the over advertising by Square for many of the games. Final Fantasy in general is making a new fallowing and I think that has brought some into the online FFXI.
