MMORPGs can ruin your life.
It sickens me that there is a need for that disclaimer at the start.

People who have a tendancy towards addiction shouldn't play games.

This is true. Gaming can be as addictive as smoking or taking drugs. I have tried smoking, didn't like it and didn't start, but that's besides the point.
Only those who have the willpower to avoid addiction should play games.
Personally, I have never played an MMORPG(nevermind not fully know what it stood for apart from the ORPG part). I have wanted to try one, but haven't at the same time, in case I can't be active enough to satisfy other people's needs.
I'm caring at heart *cough from distant place*

Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.
I just don't see the intrigue in playing a game over the internet, I mean, come on, the internet is far from being anything but a waste of time.

Assuming you are looking to the internet as a source of information, to find out about something, maybe a school project, maybe just keen interest.
But find out about something you must.
You go to yahoo/google, and type "Violence in the 60s"
And the chances are you'll get;
-A site with links to other sites (which may or may not help you)
-A site with mediocre information, usually repeating what you already know
-An unrelated site
-A porn site
-Some idiot's livejournal
Infact the only way I find anything on the internet is through sheer luck (coupled with hours of searching).

Ah, but it has some use.
Without Google, I'd've never found this site. Which would have been truly devastating for everyone.
