Gackt Ending? (spoilers be careful) - Final Fantasy Net

Um Ok. I have just finished a replay of DoC, after hearing about the G reports and that they unlock a secret ending. It took me hours to find the damn things, but reading them really inspired me to find out who "G" is, as he seems to have a link to Sephiroth, or "S" as he is known in the files. I finally got through with all 3 reports, and waited eagerly through the default ending to see this mysterious person named "G". It looked promising at first when I saw Weiss lying there in some foresty area somewhere, lookg CG and cool. Then this mysterious figure flies down, and... he has a transylvanian accent? Then you see his face, and oh my god... IT WAS GACKT! AAAAGH!!

So what I want to know was what the hell was the point? Was it actually serious, and an intriguing area of story to leave the plot open for new development, or was it a joke, an ingame gag? I have seen a few ingame gag endings before, not least the dog ending on Slinet Hill 2, that was actually quite funny. What I saw in this G ending was not funny at all, just quite scary and confusing. Anyone have any thoughts on this? What did you guys think of that ending, if you have seen it?

..............Now i have to get DoC to see this magnificent spectacle. -.-'

Maybe they made it confusing to leave it open for another game? I don't know, I haven't seen it. >.< Did it seem like something would follow it?

Me and my mum have speculated a lot about that. If it was a serious ending, then there is some room for a really good follow on story, esp. as there seems to be a link between "G" and the great Sephiroth. And hey, Sephy likes to come back a lot, why the hell shouldn't there be another story?

Although my worries are that they may be put off the idea of making a new story, because a lot of Japanese people, and some Western too, did not like DoC or Crisis Core, or even Before Crisis (I'm not sure about recently, but Crisis Core never materialized on the PSP). That would have upset the team majorly, making it less likely that they would do another sequel game. Such a shame, because the "G" thing has a hell of a lot of potential. I won't tell you any more about that ending, it will spoil it for you, but watch it and you will see what I mean! Although it was really weird seeing Gackt's face in CG as a vampiric one-winged (!!!) dude!

Oh, if you're a big fan of his, the music is not half bad either, the two tunes he contributed to the game. Did you hear those yet?

Yeah, I have. I can't remember the name of the other, but i know one is called Redemption. It's one of my favourites!

...Now you got me in the mood for some GACKTNESS!! .......Time for a Gackt signature, methinks. ;P

We'll have to find out if there is a follow-up to the game. But if Japanese people disliked it so much, i very much doubt it.

The other one is Longing, I think. Hey, maybe you could tell me more about this Gackt guy, other music he has done. I don't know much about him but I was impressed by the DoC stuff. Hmm, might play that game again...

Wow thanks! Hey, so when you do that ending, let me know if you think it looks anything like Gackt, they gave him such a creepy face. I heard on the Japanese version he did the voiceover too, though it was somebody else for the English version, Robin somebody-or-other, with a weird translyvanian accent, a shame really.
