Look i was only trying to give a balanced two sided cover of the debate there, Personally i find smoking disgusting as well and hope its banned totally, i guess Im too used to writing reports and essays on topics like these where your opinion needs to be backed up with pages of info and debates to back it up, I just find it a little short sighted whn people say "Yeah im opposed to it" - Why exactly? I want a little more info then just "cause I dont like it" or "Cause its bad" - Anyone who actually smokes will promote it as being a good thing but Id still expect a little more justification then "Its nice I like it" Cmon people wheres the empiricism?

I really dislike smoking. I've never tried it and never will. I'm totally in favour of the ban in pubs, resteraunts etc. over here in Ireland. I'd like it if it was banned completely, but I suppose that is a bit unfair, it is an addiction, but why start in the first place? I know a lot if it is down to peer pressure and blah but still... It doesn't enhance your image, look 'cool' or sexy, or whatever people think, and when anyone I know has been smoking thier breath is pretty rancid... Though maybe that's just them, lol. I suppose If people want to slowly kill themselves, that's their own choice, but when they end up inflicting it on others, it has to be stopped, and at least if someone's going to smoke they should move out of the way of other people or go outside. I could never, ever live with or date a smoker. I think the occasional one on a special occasion or something is okay, but otherwise I hate it.

I'm opposed to it because it affects other people, not just the person smoking the cig. Ever have the situation where you are walking behind a smoker on your way somewhere? Or sitting outside at a table at a restaurant and a smoker is nearby? If they could keep the crap to themselves I wouldn't care at all. It is their choice to smoke and I'm not about to interfere with the freedoms of the USA just because I think that choice is wrong. But I am going to get pissed when that damned secondhand smoke comes to my lungs. One time my parents thought I was out smoking because my jacket smelled strongly of it. No, I was just at a bowling alley where there was a crapload of smoking going on. See how it can affect others? Having your relative die from cancer can affect you as well. Damn, why do I sound so angry?

Because you have everyright to be every smoker says its my choice mention second hand smoke to them and they go silient and light a fag up till you leave you have consideration for there right s and there addiction makes yours not count +i know how it is with parents i came back and was given a talking to for 2 hours because they thought i had been smoking shhesh all because i was out with my friends who thought smoking was cool

Yeah, Tobacco kills- It's still legal.
Drink can cause death, and cause people to kill others (accident or not)- It's still legal.
"Weed" Mellows you out, is the opposite of drink, is not addictive and causes no-one harm. It's illegal. Where's the logic there, guv?

"weed" as you say is illegal because it has proven to cause psycological harm, it screws your head up after a lot of uses.

The problem I agree is the image idea, a lot of people smoke simply because it looks cool to them, theres been a lot of advertisment bans recently trying to counter this image so work is being done
