Why are we so smart, and other animals not?
What is it about our brains?

I was expecting, yet again, foolishly so, for someone to respond with an ounce of appropriateness.
The answer I was looking for was, FOLDING. I was then hoping for someone to raise a different point.

*holds his hand in the air* but sir, could it be because as soon as humans developed a complex form of communication, that our social evolutionary rate skyrocketed?
I mean, what with there being endless ways to share ideas and develop new methods. AKA. to learn, its not a suprise that our species became mentally superior to the others.
dont you thnk?

the whole thing comes from the fact thar we worked in a group. The need for a heirarchical oredrr within these groups led to complex social interactions which need a large brain to cope with them.

T SOS and Kobushi.
Ah yes, I was hoping it would lead to this.
What both of you are suggesting in principle is a very recent proposal of meme theory, the transmittance of information through non verbal communication.
You also fringe on an idea (one that I hold) that because we have a social structure such as we do, and our (natural) inquisitive nature, that we have evolved rather more quickly into what we are. Not through greater brain function, but merely out of habit.

Wrong! Humans are what we are. Nothing to do with our nature, we just have a higher level of intelligence. The brain is relatively larger when comared to overall body mass....oops. Sorry I just got out of anatomy 3.
