I'm trying to say, If you tweaked with the genes in humans, at which point AREN'T they humans anymore?

well, not that far. there is only 3% difference in human DNA from an ape's. I think it wouldnt take much tweaking, not much at all.

actually thats the difference between a human and....a mouse. A bunobo chimp, the closest has 99.999% DNA thats the same as ours. People stop being humans when they can no longer successfully reproduce with non Gene tampered with humans. Simple as that.

All this is largely semantics, I could even bring out the fact that we share a large proportion of our DNA with bananas. But all of that is besides the point.
The fact that we can recognise differences in DNA samples is besides the point.
What I'm trying to say is that, do we have a SET of DNA that must be exact that classifies us as humans?
I guess I'm working towards the idea that, are properties given by DNA and the effects they cause definite, or is there a blurred edge?
