The U.S. Government Thread
Do you like them? hate em?
I stand neutral as I don't care.
Which side do you stand on? "like" or "hate"..or neutral.
I doubt anyone has anything good to say.
hehehe..

You are right, cuz i replied first, so that means that I will have nothing good to say. all that I know is they abandon the Constitiution, and deny basic rights...but no I do not hate them.

Hate them. They have not signed the anti-polution and global warming paper. They never will.
So basically, one man is refusing to help the, I admit, inevitable destruction, but, come on, it isn't up to him, he should sign it and be away with himself.
Also, whatever Bush does makes tony blaire, for some reason, follow suite.
Hence; Hate.

Sad fact is this presidency will be remembered as a success, take regen for example, during his presedency he was often unpopular, especally with his switch to neo-liberal economics away from the more traditional kenysian theory, but all people remember him for now is the president who ended the cold war, Bush jr will be remembered in 10 years as the liberator of Iraq and the remover of Saddam.

People are predispositioned to distrust or even hate the government. Especially here in the USA, people here tend to be a lot more individualist than most, and so are resistant to government interference in their lives. And regardless of what you think of the government, even the most benevolent government will do things that appear wrong or stupid because they have to think of the big picture, which is not usually apparent or available to citizens. I don't have teams of people working to inform me of important occurrences throughout the world, so I have to believe that the government will do the best thing it can think of for a given situation. And sometimes doing the right thing means to forsake a small amount of people to save the many. This is what makes me laugh when people present signs or arguments saying we should help people in Tibet of all places. While a nice thought, the fact is that we have bigger fish to fry. And sometimes the government can make mistakes. Human beings make mistakes, and so can the government. I got rather annoyed by the government's failure to help victims of Hurricane Rita immediately, but you have to put it into perspective. Shit happens. This doesn't make me hate the government because I realize that they are human beings who can make mistakes. That does not excuse the failure to react quickly, but it is just a problem that will be addressed as soon as the government is able. It certainly doesn't warrant statements like, "George Bush is SATAN".
