The book may be fiction but it's based on historical fact.
Every book that's got something in it that never happened is fiction, such as the Bible, I call it fiction because I thought it never happened.
The book is based upon a theory and until it's proven will always be fiction.
Although there is a chance of it being fact. =P
Personally, I think the movie is badly made though, because it doesn't explain everything.

The facts are indeed factual while the story itself is fictitious. I'm very frustrated with the whole "Davinci Code" thing right now because people are taking it WAY too seriously. It's a book and those theories have been around for practically half a century. But now everyone has to make a big deal about it all over the mass culture of a decent book. It shows how ignorant and easilly misguided people can be. Most people, and I found this out recently, don't even know about the books prequel, which was made before it. I think it is part conspiracy to convert people away from Catholicism.

This can be said about people who follow the Bible, though.
Who's to say it isn't all a big scam? As we all know priests and bishops are millionaires.

You mean "Angels and Demons"?
What would be the advantages of driving people away from Catholism though?
Other than to show people the truth?

Excuse me but priests and bishops aren't millionares. The good ones do live very humble lives. And who's to say it IS all a big scam? Yes I was referring to that book, and I wasn't insinuating that there would be advantages to driving people away from Catholicism. "The truth"? Beg your pardon, but I believe you mean a different version of "the truth". It's opinion.

There are a few facts used, and the rest of it is wildly guessing to make a good read.
And a damned good read it was.

All I was saying was my opinion in that post.
Where in my post did I put "You must not believe in God"?
Oh and by the way, a good 80% of priests are either rich or Millionaires.
All I was saying was; what would be the point in "Tha Davinci code" driving people away from Christianity? Other than to show people the truth? Christians are so blinded by the lies that the Church produces they fail to notice what is in that book might be true.
Put it this way, what have the church changed?
1) The appearance of the Devil: They say the Devil looks like a Goat/Ram when in actually fact Pagans used to worship Rams/Goats so they Church though they'd make Pagans look evil.
2) The Pagan sign for M/F has been changed to the "Sign of the Devil" in the Christian church.
Looks to me like Christians hate Pagans if you ask me.

Actually, the pagan sign of love and the sign of aphrodite, or venus, was used. the pentagram.
It's also symbolic towards the five different elements the greeks thought made up life - Earth, Fire, Air, Water and Spirit. This concept was used for hundreds of years...
The trident used as a sign of the devils power was a trident: he trident of the greek god of the sea.
And so on...They really tried ^^
