"The Davinci Code" and "Angels and Demons"
For all of you who have read or saw The DaVinci Code and read Angels and Demons, what are your thoughts?
Does it show you the truth of christianity and religion?
Does it anger you for it contradicts the words of God and the Bible?
Or is it a Fictional story with a conspiracy involving Religion.
For me, this was one of the greates books I've read. Although I can see why these books caused such contraversial arguments, people fail to realise that this is "Fictional" Novel. Although it is true that CERN has discovered AntiMatter and is disputing wether to create it in large quantities or not.
So I would also like to your opinions on AntiMatter as well, this substance can power a major city for a full day with 1 droplet, and a 1/4 of a gram could destroy Vatican City.
Is it a revolution or a disaster?

We should bear in mind that the stories you mentioned above ARE indeed fiction, however, there are factual basis to some of the book's points. The stories about the Catholic's turning the pentagram from a symbol of Christianity to a symbol of the Devil is true, and the fact that they did it simply to quell some under rising beliefs is also true.
All in all though, that bears no ill against Christians in general. The Catholics, as have most other world religions, have had a long and occasionally bad history. All religions have their faults, and it is simply because mankind isn't perfect... religion being a man's ideals.
Being nonreligious myself, the books didn't anger me, obviously, but I can see why it would anger some. Muslims' blood boils whenever somebody goes so far as to draw a picture of Allah. Compared to that, this book is practically heresy. That said, the Catholic church should -- and for the most part has -- conducted themselves in a manner that is appropriate. They SHOULD ensure that their followers know their general opinion of the books, but they should NOT press for the book to be removed from general public libraries, etc. This has been done, but in most cases it's in small (particularly religious) areas.

Such as Vatican City, although I believe when Harry Potter was released, the church tried to stop that as well, but the pope indeed liked the book and let it be, but unfortunatly hes not our pope anymore

Yeah the Nazi Benedict wanted to stop releasing Harry Potter. Alright he wasn't a Nazi persay, but he was in the German Army.
Davinci Code/ Angels and Demons doesn't bother me at all, and I'm religious. I admit I was a little offended at first, but that's because, like everything, people took them WAY too seriously. What I want to know is why the hype was over the sequel, the first had a much better plot
I admit I did not know that they discovered that about AntiMatter. I knew it existed, but I didn't know they found out how to harness it like that. Not in a religious sense, that just downright disturbs me....

Well, if they were going to create anti-matter in large quantities, there would have to be an endless amount of screening in order to determine who was fit to work around it. Not to mention how tight security would need to be. I don't want them hiring some guy who trips over his own shoe laces and whose final words are "HOCRAP!!!1!11! D:" as he drops the canister containing the anti-matter.
It almost seems like too much of a gamble to try this out. I mean, one false move and we get blown to Kingdom Come. That and the idea of terrorism...if they somehow managed to get their hands on it. *shudders*
I'm a Roman Catholic, but I enjoyed the books immensely. I tip my hat to Mr. Dan Brown for making us think a little. I'm not offended in the slightest. It's not as though these are new theories...they've been around for some time. It's old news. "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" anyone?
The theories presented seem entirely plausible. And if they were true, I'd have no problem with it. So what if Jesus happened to have a child with Mary Magdalene? Christianity is supposed to be based on love and acceptance. Not to mention, the Church had recently retracted it's statements about Magdalene being a prostitute.
*nodnod* Yarr-ness.

Im good to find someoen that isnt offended by the idea of relatives to Jesus Christ. I dont understand why everyone was so pissed at the idea of a royal bloodline. It doesnt make much sense, wouldnt the descendants probably be proud, and if there descendants wouldnt they have the same ''abilities'' as Jesus Christ, which would mean another savior? Im actually Catholic, but i dont go to church and i barely prey

You'd think they'd all like it, actually. I mean, I know I would love to say at school, "Hey, my neighbor is from the royal blood line. I, like...totally own your soul now." xD
And I agree with you. If they're descended from Jesus they would probably be able to give us some holy guidance and what-not. Which I would think people would like. But apparently, everyone has their heads shoved too far up their butts to consider it a positive possibility. e_e

People are stubborn so when they here such "conspiracies" they are outraged and afraid of its potential because it is change from the ideas they have believed their whole life. I can see why people are upset, but they have to look beyond their own views.
Supposedly the bloodline is part of a secret order based on the Priory of Scion, which is real, not made up, and the relatives are in hiding

*slaps TGA on the hand* Shhh! You weren't supposed to tell anyone we're in hiding! << >>
Heh. xD All joking aside, yes, the word "conspiracy" in itself is enough to make people roll their eyes and send X-Files fans into a frenzy. The problem is that most people really have a hard time seeing the other side of the argument when they have both feet planted firmly on the ground. It can be devastating when it interrupts something you've known your whole life, true, but thankfully some people have the grace to take it in stride.
That is...if you believe it, of course.
