God and Destiny

If god is omniscient then is our future predestined?

Does predestination take away our free will?

If by ''future'', you would mean the afterlife, then according to religious and many philosophical beliefs, then it is predetermined.

Weather we have free will or no, there is not much escaping the outcome of our actions, weather knowledge or faith accompanies it or not.

By this I mean, in life, it would seem we are free to chose our own destiny (Although personally, this is not my belief, and nor do I believe in God.) but after that, the circumstances depend on what you chose to do.

Well, I take it the majority of Christian beliefs lie in such an explanation..

As far as life itself is concerned, I believe it to be even more complex and mysterious, as we live yet never know.

It also depends on the opinions or beliefs of the believers. (And different religious organizations.) In which case, I could share my opinion, but if you should seek an answer in all serious manner, then perhaps suggestions from those who believe in God should be more favourable to you.

I just remembered a quote from Forest Gump.

"I don't know if Lieutenant dan was right in that we all have a destiny or whether Momma was right in that we're all floating accidental like on a breeze. I'm thinking, maybe it's both. Maybe both are happening at the same time"

This got me thinking, maybe our future is predestined and we have free will. The outcome is already known by god however how you reach it is your decision. It is also how you reach it that determines your place in the afterlife.

For instance, God may know that you're going to be wealthy but will it be because you made a decent honoest living or you were a crook.

I like the explination many have come to accept. Everyone has many possible destinies, and each choice you make takes you closer to one or the other.

However good would know what destiny you choose, and therefore you would have to choose that destiny.

No, god would only know which choices you would need to make to go to each of these destinies. And what of those and believe in a different god? More than one god? No god?

yes that is so, we do chose which path to take, but that path has been pave already. so your path as been mark donw, even if you take the path less taking. but remember it is not the end that conts, is how you got there.
