Default Scientology...wtf?

Alright, I did some research about this new religion named Scientology.

Apparently there into cleansing people, and you must take a personality test before you join. They tell you how stressed you are and how depressed you are. The tool they use for this is called an E-Meter.

Now this is my discussion, I did research on the background of the subject and this is what I found.

"Despite their confidentiality within the Church, excerpts and descriptions of these materials have been widely published in the mainstream press; this was made possible when the confidential teachings were submitted as evidence in court cases involving Scientology, thus becoming a matter of public record. In the confidential OT levels, Hubbard describes a variety of traumas commonly experienced in past lives, experiences that extend many millions of years into the past. He also explains how to reverse the effects of such traumas. Among these advanced teachings, one episode revealed to those who reach OT level III has been much remarked upon in the press: the story of Xenu and his Galactic Confederacy.

Xenu (sometimes Xemu) is introduced as an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living, and they continue to do this today, wreaking havoc in the process. Hubbard called these clustered spirits "Body Thetans," and the advanced levels place considerable emphasis on isolating them and neutralizing their ill effects."

Alright
NOTE: Body Thetans are what the use to measure how depressed you are with the E-Meter

Nows my question...
Whats you intake on this?

Is it nonsense?
Is it real?

What are your thoughts

NOTE: THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN, THIS IS NO JOKE.

I did a lot of research into Scientology in the past as well. I don't really like saying that other religious beliefs are WRONG, per se, but... let's be honest here. Scientology is whack. Not only did the religion's founder say some pretty damning things:

"The best way to make money is to invent your own religion!"

He was also a science fiction writer. (L. Ron Hubbard is the man that I am referring to.) In addition to this, in order to belong to Scientology and to continue to participate, you must pay a fee, and continually pay fees whenever you need something. The fees can be pretty harsh, hundreds of dollars. The religion is blatantly obvious in its money making scheme.

I will not comment on the absurdity of the space martians and all of that, because, frankly, it's EQUALLY as absurd as the beliefs of Christianity, Shintoism, Zorastrianism, Hindu, etc etc. All religions sound far fetched, really, they do.

In summation, I believe personally that Scientology is a scam, and generates cultist mentality. It is, in my opinion, a plague on the members who get suckered in to believeing it.

I have done alot of research on this matter and i say its pure hogwash...no way does this even makes sense...

For one, cmon, this sounds like the ramblings of a guy who watches to many freaking cartoons...i mean he was a science fiction writer for god sakes...

And two, Elron Hubbard, who is the "founder" of this aboination, said himself that the easiest way to make money, is to start a religion...and thats just what he did...he took advantage to somthing special that God gave us, and that is free will...he knew how confused people are about religion and he exploited it for personal gain...

Scientology to me is nothing more then a global scam...And to the "followers" of this religion, Hahaha...ur stupid...

ALSO,Im sure i will get flamed for what i just said...i'll probably get called a closed minded asshole or somthing of that nature...but this is one topic i wont apologize for saying mean things about...

This is almost exactly what is going through my head.
This isnt is as much a religion as it is a cult. In short form, they basicaly tell you your depressed and charge you money to get rid of your "Body Thetans" which are souls coming from a spacecraft 500 000 years ago.

And it saddens me to see that there are millions of people who are paying money when they can be happy themselves. This is ridiculous, but as you said so are all the other religions.

Scientology is old now.
Frankly, it's bull. The "e-meter" is something that ACTUALLY evaluates, in a way, your stress levels. It's been around longer than scientology. Also, really...look at the facts, It's almost as far-fetched as christianity =P

I wouldnt say that...

But c'mon. Scientology is basically bull ramblings of a crackpot who never tuned into reality. This makes no sense, there is NO proof.

Most other religions have SOME sorta proof, even though it may not make sense. But this is just something that turbo nerds would think as a great science fiction show.

You guys are saying this is ALMOST as wierd as Christianity?! This is so far fetched, I find it hard to believe that people actually believe in this. At least other religions have some proof. This is just another science fiction story that has evolved into a cult following. Like if people took Star Wars too seriously. People would believe in the "force" and all that junk. By far, this is one of the most ridiculous ideas EVER.

And heres somthing interesting: When you need to be "clensed" every so often, you pay about $1500 to have "microscopic machens" crawl all over you and "clense" you of inpurity. What a bunch os bull.

Actually, Christianity contradicts itself all the time. That's one reason why a lot of people dislike it. xD

Scientology is a load of bull. Not only did the guy basically tell the world he would create a religion to make money, he's a science fiction writer. Why not just create the "Gimmeh yer munny" religion? I don't see how anyone could benefit from this either.
