Default Under God?

"I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic, through which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, for liberty and justice for all."

People have been making a controversy out of whether or whether not "Under God" should be included in the Pledge of Allegiance. Many people don't think it should, due to religious reasons and others.

What do you guys think?

For me it is easy:
I don't believe in god
I believe in freedom of speech
I believe that is I crush an ant that he won't haunt me the rest of his ... afterlife
What I mean is: they can put whatever they want in that speech.
They could even make it a beer song :P
that would be epic
but back to the point
They can do what they want to do

Due to so many religions that have come about, I think that if that were taken out, many, many religious people would end up pushing away the Pledge. =/

There's a kid in my old science class that would never say the 'Under God' part, just stop saying it. Then he'd continue after that. o.o

I'm partially Christian myself, so I don't have a true opinion as of yet, other than that if anyone were to take it out, it would lead to much more than debates over it.

Makes the entire thing sound pretty Ku Klux Klan to me, but we do have to remember that the majority of Americans are Christian, and that the principles of the United States were founded on Christian morality, perseverance and hope. (I mean aside from the technical means which were used to build the country.) I think it should remain, if just to please everyone. No need of a civil war for THAT. O_o XD

If people were going to start arguing about specific and different religious orientations and the matter of freedom of speech and what should or should not be included in this pledge of allegiance, then it would get way too complicated.

And furthermore, liberty and justice for all should be more then enough to content the the aspect of freedom of speech for those who take this pledge to heart.

Separation of church and strate vs. tradition? Tradiotion will win. Especially if it has freaking majority religion on its side. Personally, I think they oughtn;t make us say the pledge at all. It's supposed to increase patriotism, or swear upon whatever hoinor you might have that you;re loyal to the states, but how much hoinor does the average traitoir have? As for people who actually like the country but dislioke oppression, this is just one more thing that The Man is doing to opress our freedom, by forcing us to recite an oath every day (or every thursday) that either does nothingto reinforce what's already there, or does nothing tio change what isn;t. I think the pledge should be considered some sort of patriotic thing, like the National Anthem (which, if I recall correctly, gets pretty religious in verses 2 and 3), rather than a requirement to swear one's honor to a symbolic piece of cloth and a country that one should already be loyal to in the first place, if one is living here.
