Gackt is apparantly a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series. So much so that his appearance was the basis for the character Squall in FF VIII. And I do like his music too, it is pretty good. But I have to be honest, I thought that secret ending for DoC was a little weird. It was cool tho, but dissapointing. Of course I shouldn't complain about it tho since I didn't actually earn the right to see it, although I did finish the game I only saw the secret ending on YouTube. Anyways, that is all :P

Was I the only person crazy enough to get the ending the hard way?! But then, I do like Vincent, so it wasn't too much to play the game again to find the G reports. They are in really stupid places though, and Vincent is pretty terrible at jumping awwww!
I agree I wasn't sure what was going on when I saw that ending, I'm still not entirely sure if it was a joke or not. True Gackt is a big fan of Final Fantasy, but would he really want to make a joke ending for a supposedly serious game? Or do Square Enix really have a reson for it, like leaving the game open for another sequel? I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!!!!!
Esp with all that crazy speculation about an FFVII remake, and so many fans wishing they had created a direct sequel game to FFVII rather than the Compilation project, it just makes me wonder what is on their mind. I actually got hyped up by reading the G reports, which explain the Gackt ending a little and gives it a storyline. I can post those on here if you want.
FYI:
REDEMPTION LYRICS in English:
Break Out!
Your form which returns gently to heaven
I watched it for the longest time, until my tears dried up.
And the sorrow overflowing from the scar which can't be erased,
I swore that I would never forget it.
I'll flap my broken wings and erase it all some day, you'll see,
Until the last bell ringing the dirge completes.
Red tears traced by a trembling finger,
It crashes through the dark memories.
The last smile wavered, and disappears,
And the warmth is all that's left.
Your kind and gentle words can't heal me now,
This body's only dedicated to the never ending fight.
Because everyone returns to heaven, some day,
You'll never need to say goodbye.
Break out!
I'll flap my broken wings and erase it all some day, you'll see,
Until the last bell ringing the dirge completes.
Your kind and gentle words can't heal me now,
This body's only dedicated to the never ending fight.
LONGING LYRICS In English:
Holding onto you with these arms dyed so red
I offer the moon these tears shone blue
Staring at this scar carved deep into flesh
As the night whispers, "No turning back anymore..."
Now, close your eyes and say your prayers
'cos I've nothing left to say to you
With your voice, cut this sacred darkness into pieces
Scream, and put an end to it all
Quietly now, hold on to me
For it is here you shall find everlasting peace
Wash away all your sins, and be reborn
And leave nothing behind...
Now, close your eyes and say your prayers
'cos I've nothing left to say to you

haha, Miss Lockheart, you are making me want to dig out DoC from my closet and play it again. I havn't touched it since like a week after it was released. I played it non-stop until it was complete. I just wanted to experience the new FFVII story. I actually found it pretty hard. I'm not very good at action games, my fingers aren't fast enough on the controller, haha, hence my main interest in RPGs I suppose. Oh, and as for the G reports, those would be intersting to read, but don't worry about typing them all out, I'm sure I could find those already transcribed somewhere online.

Yeah there's loads of places you can read those, and the Omega reports too. I agree that game is quite hard, I'm no Gun gal myself. Though it was an interesting experience, and I love Vincent, but I don't think I will be playing any more games like that.
So what did you think of the story? I liked a lot of it, the insight was great, but maybe a bit too much. It retracted a lot from the mystery of Vincent, which was one of the reasons I liked him so much. Dammit one minute we know little about him (FFVII), then we know everything! And I found Lucrecia really melodramatic and annoying at times. Apart from that, it was fun! And I loved some of the comedy relief- Yuffie falling off a hill while Vincent looks away embarrased, Vincent playing at flapping his cape rather excessively... Hee hee hee!

I thought it was pretty good. The good thing about DoC is that there was A LOT OF STORY. It's funny how many critics of video game mags and websites who reviewed the game saw this as a major downfall to the game itself, I think I remember one critic stating that 'DoC is way too in love with it's own story.' haha, but of course because I have been such a huge fan of the FFVII world, to me this turned out to be one of the games most endearing features.
Of course, I'm all about the graphics, I thought the CGI cutscenes were just stellar. I think my fav part was the opening tho. I just about screamed in delight when they showed Vincent and Yuffie (with her pre-Advent Children uniform from the original game) evacuating Midgar just before Meteor struck; and then Vincents encounter with Hojo. I thought that was awesome since it showed previously unwitnessed events from the original game. Anyways, I've geeked out enough. The point I think I'm trying to make is... the story might of had too much insite for most gamers, but I don't think it was for most FFVII fans. It was just right.

Oh I do agree that it was great to tie up the loose ends. Hee hee they made it into a good excuse for leaving those poor guys out of the final cutscene! (they couldn't really include them because they were secret characters) I thought the default ending was fantastic, for graphics and for finishing the story. And hey, if having lots of cutscenes meant less time getting shot to death, I was happy! I kept getting Ds and Cs for the damage I took because I suck at stealth, kept getting sniped!
Hey the in-game cut scenes were quite good graphics too, of course nothing on the CGI ones becaue they were awesome! Dammit why do so many people hate this game!?! It was completely ripped to shreds by the critics. But I often wonder what said critics expect anyway. They wanted an Oscar performance from AC, even though it was specifically for the fans, so what did they expect from DoC?
Oh have you started playing it again? Hee hee!

nope, haha, havn't started replaying it yet, I will let you know if and when I do. I wish I could just put the game on autoplay tho and let the computer play so that I could just watch the story unfold.
hey, I was checking some of the stuff from the Tokyo Game Show, and have you heard anything about a Dirge of Cerberus game, just a small one tho for cell phones in Japan, it will be called DoC: Lost Episode, or something like that.

I have heard of that! Woohoo something I have actually heard about! I'm not sure of the details though, just know of it's existence (fu fu fu).
Ooooh I went to gametrailers and saw a CGI from Crisis Core, it's a Sephiroth fight! It's actually made me quite mad, it's only gonna be on the PSP! I really wish they would release it on PS2, it looks like it might be a worthy game! The CGI was actually BETTER than AC!!! Still no info on release date, grrrrrr!
