True if they where to do a squal to FFVI they should explain what had happen before the game started with the War of Magi then gradually explain everything and then maybe then work with after the Fight with Kefka. But that is what I think they should do.
But you are right they should concitrate on the current Final Fantasy but it is up to them on what they want to do. If they want to do squals then they should but like I said it is really up to them on what they do not us.

I'd like a sequel, since FFVI is my favorite Final Fantasy game...but I'd want one explaining the War of the Magi or at least taking place in that era of time.
I've seen this one site where they are making a FFVI-sequel though. Supposedly, you play as descendants of the FFVI characters. =/
