They have the same hair colour...and the dream sequence only exists to prove it, as does the whole issue with the Memento Rings, so they are related.
Unless Baram porked Clyde's wife or something...leave it to Square to be all dramatic and not tell us about it.
But Relm is a total bitch, so Shadow should just have left her to die in the fire hahaha.
