ok, but im still not totally sure about wats goin on. u dont need to explain but can u guys just answer a few questions.

1. how much more time til our supplies diminish
2. how many people are in the group
3. where are we??
4. are there like specific jobs that people have??

thts all i got. and IM NOT INFECTED lol. i have my hunting gun to shoot any zombies that come in my way, but im out of ammo and thats why i came here

I think we're already to the point where we're raising food and finding water, but I don;t know for sure as I doubt anyone;'s keeping track on the forum.

probably at least 6-12 (depinding on how many people are still at the forum), maybe more.

People who are good at jobs get more time doing specific things, but everyone does everything on a rotational duty roster.
Answering your questions to the best of my knowledge.

Does anyone happen tio know if there is a zombie apocalypse mod to the Sims games (either fanmade or official), or if the vampires in Night Life can act as a reasonable substitute for zombies?

Or, even better, the Sims. I tried to make a zombie apocalypse scenario, but didn't know how to make zombies.

(PS: If anyone knows of a good tutorial or method for modding the sims 2 in this manner, please PM me)

The Sims does have a vampire expansion though, where your Sims can turn into vampires, and you must live during the night and infect other Sims.

really?

and I think there is a way of turning sims into zombies in the normal game. when the grim reaper comes for a dead sim, if someone bargains with him occasionally the sim is brought back to life as a zombie. They act like a regular sim though. They're just green.

Yeah, Night Life. And I thought they remoived the zombie effect for Sims 2. Ah, well, I'm hoping someone else I can ask knows where there might be a *stagger, moan, "brains"* zombie patch.

So, anything else that need be done for the colony, or are we self-sufficient? If we are, perhaps we could set up some wind turbines in pieces inside the compound, then assemble them the next time we have several people off the duty roster. Or not. I don't know where we are with the colony right now.

by far the easiest source of power would be to put our sewage in a big tank, then burn the resulting methane from decomposition as a feul source. the rest of the sewage could be used as fertilizer or other somesuch.

The next most available source of renewable power would be dynamos (but they are inneficient)

After that, we'd have to start on the wind power. Solar's way out.

I don't know, ther'ed be plenty of abondoned Hydro-electric plants (Dams) to go around. but taking one over and getting it to work would be difficult if we don't know how. then there's maintanence... for any power generator really, built or hyjacked.
