Problem....

I have a big problem at the moment with my computer, as some of you may well know, it's been really playing up on me lately. A combination of it being an old computer (damn you brother it's your fault as always), restarting it made it really slow and now it's blacking out spontaneously for no reason. I can't write any music at the moment which is rather frustrating since I got my creative spark back and can't use it, and to add insult to injury now I don't know what this means for my posting future.

So with a heavy heart I inform you that I might not be around so much anymore for a while, maybe not at all, it really depends on when I can get a message through. I still want to be a part of this place and of course I'll keep you guys updated. But it is really hard getting hold of another computer (I'm on state benefit) and if my bad luck continues any further I'm not sure what will happen.

I'm really gonna miss you guys while I'm away, I remember last time I had to brace myself for being cut off, I managed to get around it, but it's gonna be tougher this time. I'll post as much as I very well can, and maybe things might start going right soon. Take care, and post lots for me!!!!

I must ask, do you have an AOL chat program installed?

When I had that, the program automatically ''upgraded'' my computer with its updates and the like...and every time it did, it made my computer restart. I deleted it, and now it seems quite fine.

Of course it could be so many things.

But that sucks. I do hope that you get it fixed soon, and can post regularly again.

That realy sucks! If your PC problems are realy so huge, I fear you have to reinstal the whole Windows ( or what you have there ) The proces is long and it erases almost everything what was on your previous.

Wish I could help, but the only suggestions I would have are to check for conflicting programs, and either change that or upgrade the operating system (software, not harware). I'd have other suggestions, but they're costly and/or may annihilate your computer if done wrong.

try defragmenting the system, it helps sometimes.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a shot. I'm gonna do my best to get back to business, I can't let this beat me!!!

I tried defragmenting, and it took a whole of 20 mins, which is unusual because usually it takes hours. But then I remembered that I totally restarted the computer, as in deleting the original slot and putting this version of Windows on it. It looks like I deleted a lot of stuff that was actually responsible for keeping the computer healthy (as well as my soundcard ~_~), which is real bad I think. Perhaps I need to buy a better version of Windows XP, as in buy it *cringes at the thought*, or just somehow get a new computer since this one is pretty old and decrepit.

But at least I managed to find a solution to my music problem- my mum is gonna loan me the use of her computer. I won't be able to get it online, so I'll still be depending on this one for that, but at least my University hopes aren't completely dashed.

Ah dammit!

I think the problem is the machine itself, overheating or something. Now I can only use the computer for about an hour before the power just goes off. I'm really upset about it, I don't dare use this thing for more than a few minutes

My mum says I might be able to borrow her laptop for a while and internet enable it, until someone can look at my computer. I'm just glad it's not a software error or some such thing, since I restarted it Windows seems to have stabilized and is working really well, so it must be the fan or some piece of hardware somewhere, or something. And there was me thinking I'd gotten away with posting at my usual level

Anyways, it still stands, if I'm absent for any length of time you know why. Hope y'all can keep this forum running smoothly whilst I get my head around zhe computer ^^

uhh im no computer expert, but this has soooo happened to me before
dont u just need to install a new fan or something?
my laptop would do that. i think the fan stopped working and it would overheat and shut down randomly

just a suggestion from past experiences
