Strange layout O.O - Final Fantasy Net

Do not panic!!!

I shall explain why the general forum suddenly looks a bit, erm weird. Firstly the disappearance of the General Chat section- myself and Termie decided that this area was rather, erm, nonsensical so we moved the most recent threads out to the General Forum and magicked away the General Chat section. Don't worry, if people aren't happy with that change I can easily reinstate it. But really we just felt that there was no point to it.

Also the new Art and Entertainment sections were Termie's idea- except that I've had a bit of trouble implementing them because for some bizarre reason that I really can't think of (and trust me it is bizarre, since I've made new subforums in KH3 and never had this prob before o.o) they are showing up in the General Forum aswell as where they should be showing. I'm going to ask Kota and Kain to look into this for me. It completely defies logic, but bear with us and hopefully we can get that fixed asap.

Well I hope everyone is fine with it, we thought that it would be a lot more convenient to move the two general sections together, as there is no real point to having two different ones. :/ It was just confusing, and icky looking. >_>

And I know some people in the past had asked for the art and entertainment section to have sub sections, (I think we did before and nobody used them but whatever. XD) but I forgot about these requests until now. Once we figure out how to get these sub sections to show up only where they are supposed to, I will start moving the threads to their appropriate sections.

Of course, as Miss Lockheart says, if the majority do not enjoy this, we can revert it back to how it was before.

If anyone has suggestions or comments, please leave them here, or PM one of us about it.

Edit, new information from Miss Lockheart.

-If some threads appear to be missing, you can just do a search for them and pull them out, nothing is gone. The recent and most active threads have been saved, the other ones still exist, just like the older ones from when before Kain fixed everything last year.

After doing a bit of tinkering, I really do believe that it's a case for Kain and Kota. I tried a little experiment by adding an old subforum to Art & Entertainment, one that's been outside of Neo FFNet for a while- and kinda the same thing happened. So now I really think this place is haunted and can't wait for some help

I don't really see the point of having split the Art and Entertainment subforum the way you did.

The fusion of the General Forum with General Discussion bothers be, but it was a perfectly logical move, and I'm sure it will feel perfectly normal once I get used to it. So no problems there. just not seeing why you changed the Art and Entertainment section like that (aren't the anime/manga, movies, etc. subfora redundant, with the Arrt and Entertainment still there, and limiting were it not?)

The general chat fusing might now seem a bit awkward, and we can always reverse it to take away the all encompassing section and put everything in a "chat" section.
But I am sure we will get used to it, I remember how lost I was when Kain refaced the forums last year.

As for the arts section, well I thought it was logical, seeing as it makes it less confusing when people post their subjects in appropriate sections. To me that is like having all the Final Fantasy games merged into one single section, instead of having it detached via era as we currently do. If people really do not like it though, we can put it back to how it was, even if it was my idea, the forum's decision is fine by me either way.

No no no, leave the Arts and Entertainment section the way it is. I remember... there had been some buzz going on around the forum a while back regarding this issue.

If the forum asketh, the forum should giveth. XD I think it is all a good change, well done. *thumbs up admins*

Still trying to find a way to fix the little problem we are having...damn illogical forum. XD Anyways, I hope that everyone will get used to it eventually, and we are working on trying to smack sense into the programs. >_>

Ok, just a heads up letting you know Kain fixed this. Feel free to post away to your hearts content in the new Arts & Entertainment Section.

And thank you Kain for fixing it! You know we love you right?

Now then, I have taken it upon myself to move all the threads into their appropriate sections...I am not going to do this in one sitting, as there are too many, but it should be done soon enough.

Some of it is a little confusing, for example anything that has to do with television shows, I am putting in with films, and I have decided to leave anything related to comic books or webcomics in the encompassing other default section. Now if someone has any suggestions or advice on where more vague things should be placed, please let me know in here, or through a PM.

I'm thinking maybe set the "Film" name as "Films and Television", and then go ahead and put all comics in "Other" like you said?
