Well....., i tried..... and it failed, my dad just about had a heart attack but thanks for the suggestions. I just had to vent and thanks to all who were kind enough to reply to my griping

That's what you got from the first post? That has no relevance WHATSOEVER. Christians do not believe they are "controlled" by god. They are completely aware that what they do is of their own control, they strive merely to abide by a set of rules and practices.

Oh and priests don't believe they are the "messengers of god".

no, priests are in principle that though, spreading the word of god and suchlike
and i'm saying, is that what they're saying to the srgt is gods command...etc

No, not really. They spread the "word of god", that doesn't mean they are the ones who communicate with him.

Yeah, exactly. They're saying that they (and "srgt") that you should choose to follow the ways of god. Not "God will control you, and he will smite you if you resist". At the end of the day, god isn't going to MAKE you go to church, or MAKE you say prayer, or MAKE you treat people with respect. But his word would have you do so.

in the old days only they were allowed to read the bible, and say the prayers because it was communicating with god.
or soemthing, i seem to be lacking in memories from history lessons now..*sigh* i'll remember eventually >_>
