My favorite animes are a lot of the more commercialized stuff, mostly because I just havn't been exposed to a lot of the more rare stuff you guys seem to be really into, but I really like:

Akira
Ninja Scroll
Ghost in the Shell
Anything by Hayao Miyazaki (especiall Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Castles in the Sky)
Cowboy Bebop
FFVII: Last Order
Pokemon (a guilty pleasure I had at one point myself Mrs. Lockheart )
and Appleseed.

There is also some more Westernized animation which is inspired by the Japanese Anime which I am particularly fond of, including the Samurai Jack and Star Wars Clone Wars series, and the Animatrix compilation shorts. Some good stuff here.

And of course, Chrono Trigger deserves a special mention, even tho it is a video game I think it's still deserves to be considered an anime.

Wow Samurai Jack how could I forget that?!

I liked what I saw of One Piece aswell, forgot to mention that. I've been curious about Cowboy Bebop after hearing about Steve Blum and how people compare his take on Vincent to that of Spike. Hehehe yeah Last Order too, shame there was never an English dub for that one

Wow, I've never heard that before, but that totally makes sense. They are indeed very similar now that I think of it. I havn't watched Bebop in a while tho, I think I'm due for a re-viewing. Better get the popcorn ready.

Not familiar with One Piece, I'll have to look that one up. What's it about?

Oh, and I also thought Deep Blue, and Macrosse Plus were pretty good. I'm sure there's others too but I can't think of them right now, it's just really late and my brain is starting to go boom boom.

^ lol your post failed... J/k you should really check out Akira. Its a movie so if you don't like it its only two hours of your life you wasted. But my guess is you will get into it.

Akira FTW!!
Samurai Champloo. Great series.
Karos, The prophecy I recently watched this movie and was dazzled. It was like watching Akira for the first time.. AWESOMENESS

One Piece is kinda for kids, but it's got some great fighting in it, and good comedy!! It's about pirates looking for some guy's lost treasure, swashbuckling kind of fun!

Oooh I've seen the first episode of Samurai Champloo, my brother showed me it. The really quiet guy who teams up with the crazy guy reminds me of my little brother at Uni, with the glasses and the attitude!
