Wow those are some horrible times, have you considered seeing a doctor now you're older? And of course sharing with your friends might be more helpful than you think.
I had the same troubles as Termie throuh high school, and until 2004 I suffered a lot with IBS aswell, which just aggravated the usual monthly pains. IBS is another one that often goes unnoticed, or people tell you to stop being soft and "get on with it". I used to dread PE, because my teacher thought I was just saying it to get out of having to do the games or gym training, and then when I tried but I could barely move a step she would slap the "Drama Queen" label on me. Not very pleasant.
If the headaches made you lose balance when you were younger, then there may be an underriding issue with your health that causes that level of affliction. My mum got similar kinds of headaches all her life, and they led to a mini stroke which lasted eight hours. Luckily it wasn't a full stroke so none of the symptoms were permanent (she actually went cross-eyed for a short while and couldn't walk), but they did a scan and found that she has a significant amount of fluid on her brain. It stopped her doing the Macchu Picchu trek because of the high altitude possibly bringing another attack.
Woah I don't mean to scare you >_< but as I say, best to get checked and know where you stand. Doctors are usually useless, but sometimes they can be helpful

Well, I typically see doctors as more useless than useful, IMO... Like my dad had to have a heart valve replaced due to this medical condition that seems to run to firstborn sons in our family... They botvhed up the first one, so he nearly died of staph infection. They had to remove the hert valve they put in him and replace it with a more sterile one. Why they didn't do that to start with is beyond me...
As with doctor's appointments, I wouldn't be too surprised if I have lung cancer already because my grandma always smokes around me, and we go over to visit her at least one weekend a month. Other than that, I dunno.

Well I had that situations and I can say this:
It is just a bad line in your life. Just wait till it is gone...And use some painkillers

The medical system is indeed another problem.
Half the time, and this is not a theory but admitted fact, most health problems really are not that determined, and even less are the ''methods'' said to rectify them. Medical science is still a very infantile prospect, and although I can easily understand this when considering the evolution of diseases and their apparent roles and why they come into existence, but it remains that we are the ones suffering from the consequences, as we are nearly like guinea pigs.
Not to mention the crooks and all.
It is not ALL like this of course, there is honest intent and true concern, and we do have good means of prevention, but it is nowhere near being perfect.
Not to mention that seeing a doctor is actually very hard, and it costs quite a lot in many cases.
They always tell you to go and seek medical advice when you may perceive something as abnormal with your health, but getting an appointment takes forever, and many times we are dismissed with ''we are not sure what that is'' or ''it is too early to tell''.
And do not get me started upon the subject of psychological mental disorders and their social establishments. XD

Oh god... I feel like those people are paid to make up a problem with you even if you don't have one... I went to a shrink (psychiatrist) for awhile and I think he was doing his job wrong or something... Though he said I had many similarities to some of his OCD patients, he said I had absolutely nothing wrong with me. Not only that, but I'm sure I've developed chronic or manic depression somehow... :/

What they do is analyze your behaviour and apparently unconventional traits, declare them as syndromes, consult what their university boons say about it and then give out the appropriate pills and medication in order to cancel or help one bear with the disorder.
Seems pretty simple, but also funny coming from the same people who admit themselves that the human psyche and its anomalies are even more mysterious then God.

I love how this topic turned from headaches and daily worries to shrinks. :3 I must say I really enjoy this thread. It allows me to speak my mind... On afflictions of the mind...

This always happens here. So much so that it seems normal, and that I forgot that I even had a headache last night.
