X-rays+Nintendo DS
Question: I haven;t been able to find this anywhere online, but I'm going on vacation in a few months, and was wondering if any of you knew if x-ray machines caused any problems to Nintendo DS systems or cartridges (erased save files or game programming, damage to processors or screens, erased CF card for MP3 adaptor, etc). Couldn;t find it anywhere else, just wanted to see if anyone here knows.

Hmmm you might have a problem with X-rays, as with mobile phones which can also bug your equipment if you keep them too close. Better to be safe than sorry I would say, it might be wise to stick to an older handheld such as the GB Advance

What the hell sort of vacation will THIS be? O_o
Hum...I cannot say for sure, but allow me to dig around, and see if I may find something about this.

zHeh, no, just airport security for carry-on. Four hours of people talking is bad for concentrating, even on reading, so games and MP3 adapter seem a necessity.

I asked someone online about this at Answerbag, and they said that even the official Nintendo regulations guidelines have nothing about X-Rays and what it can do to DS's. (Or any other console, and maybe ''X-Rays'' was not the word I should have used.)
I am sorry it took so long, but I did not even find any answer.
But I did not look there myself, I do not even know where to find this even in Nintendo's official site. I am saying what I was told. Still kind of strange, though.
But maybe soome video game related places like IGN or 1-Up will know. Will let you know if I find something.

Yeah, don;t worry about it. I can probably call or message Nintendo about it.
Thanks for helping, though!

Hmm. I myself have had trouble in the past getting ahold of Nintendo directly. I remember everytime I tried to find an email address or even a mailing address I kept getting the 'run around'. They do this intentionally.
Oh, and I've never... ever heard of a video game getting damaged from x-rays from airport machines, so I'm sure Jet's games will be just fine. Have a good trip.
Interesting thread, where did this thought come from?

Well, okay, thanks. That's probably helpful.
(and there's a link through their site via their troubleshooting and contacts page where you can direct e-mail them. I don;t think they accept emails from other servers)
Where it came from was, I;m going on vacation sometime this spring, I think, around march or april, and 8 hours on planes and layover with no games and minimal reqading material would be a horror almost beyond imagining.
I do wonder if anyone else has wondered what obscure things may or may not damage systems or games.
Edit: Nintedno sent a direct reply, and apparently nether DS systems or cartridges nor GBA or game boy cartridges or systems are damaged by x-ray security machines.

A Datel MP3 adapter is not licensed by Nintendo of America Inc., so I'm unable to answer your questions regarding it. Nintendo doesn't support, endorse or recommend using this product.

Um...
You know how Sony makes the PS series (as well as a multitude of other electronics), Microsoft makes the X-box consoles (as well as computers, programs, and some games)? Nintendo makes the Nintendo Wii console, and Nintendo DS handheld system. And the Legend of Zelda series. And made the Gamecube. And the N(intendo)64. And the NES! Nintendo Entertainment system!
*going into shock.*
