. . .hey, im only trying to find interesting thread names. . .now, if you actually want a thread to request dates. . .well, i guess you can go to match.com or something. . .now if you really have to use an online dating system to find a date. . .well, that's kinda. . .sad (no offense, just personal opinion. . .did i just made some enemies here?). . .

. . .anyways, i was thinking: there are many charaters in ff, and many of them go off without finding someone. . .of course, that's no problem given that only the main characters get a love story of some sort while all others are just given normal story lines. . .

. . .long story short: what characters would you have liked to see get a love story?. . .what kind of character would you have liked to have been created to be paired with an existing one?. . .

. . .for example. . .if vincent where to have a girl friend, i think she should be cheerful and playful. . .just to valance out the rather silent nature of the guy. . .imagine rikku going out w/ vincent. . .ok, maybe not as far as rikku, but you get the picture. . .i would defenitely not like a character like lulu for his girlfriend, though. . .too much seriousness. . .may be someone like. . .miss lockheart. . .

i wonder who sephiroth, auron, cissnei (come on, she had as much a good a shot as aerith to get zack), or genesis would date???. . .

God, there are just so many possibilities, it is hard to name just a few...

Vivi in IX was a character which allowed us to see an outsiders view of so many aspects of human emotions, such as friendship, honor, and of course courage. Because of the nature of his own existence, he was really just a baby and so all these kinds of things were so new to him and we, the gamers, got to see how someone from this perspective saw these kinds of things. But about the only thing we didn't get to see was how he approached love. (except some dabbling in familial love of course with the Mages in the Black Mage Village very late in the game). I would of loved to have seen him have a girlfriend. Especially since, given the surprise in Alexandria at the ending, we know he obviously found one.

There was some hinting at a romance between Edge and Rydia near the final movement of IV but we did not get nearly enough for my liking. I wanted to see more of that.

And, of course, one of my personal favorite, and underrated characters of all time in my opinion, was Lulu and Wakka from X. (in fact, they were really the only thing I liked about that game) And we know from X-2 that they do become romantically involved, but there is a huge gap there that we didn't get to see.

If I was to put two FF characters together from different games that I think would be a good match, I think Zell and Rikku would work well, mostly because they are very cocky and fun. They would probably be the kind of couple everyone wold want to invite to their parties because they would liven things up so much.

So, erm, yeah. I could theorize about this kind of stuff forever, because it is so much fun... but I will stop myself there because I don't think anyone wants to read anymore from me. LOL

I agree with the Zell/Rikku pairing, they would really hit it off. And Zell could teach Rikku how to hoverboard

I always wished that there had been more to the possible Freya/Amarant match-up, for so much of the game it seemed like they might have had something. I was kinda gutted when Fratley came back on the scene!! Poor Amarant, I think all he needed was a wimmin to distract him from his hangups.

I've heard a lot of people talk about a Yuffie/Vincent pairing. Yuck!!! *_*

Tidus and Rinoa might work- they would be the "whiny" pair. Or perhaps Cloud and Rinoa, might not be fair to call Tidus whiny. Arrrgh you could go on forever with these pairings!!!!

Ok ok just one more, just to freak you all out, but would be pretty awesome........CLOUD AND FRAN!!!!! Hawt

I would totally couple irvine to rikku because he would be all like lonely misunderstand love seeker and she would be all cheerfull and stuff! (that's why I though that he would be perfect for selphie >.<)

@ Revenant: If Sephiroth had a girlfriend, it would be the severed head of his mother's preserved corpse. That game (and the other games, movie, anime) are really freaky when you think about it from an objective point of view (see MidgarFanatic's earlier reference to Vivi, FFIX)

@ Miss Lockheart: Tidus was whiny, though he toughened up in the end. Cloud waqs just mopey (and got even worse toward the end, and then for at least the next two years)

@NF5: Yeah, Vincent and someone less... Vampire... might work out. Sort of a Wakka/Lulu situation.

In general: I don;t know, a lot of the characters actually did have their own background stories that didn;t really seem romanti9c or anything, but were either masked by their main substory, or had already resulted in tragedy, leading o their joining the main character's quest (such as Cid's love of flying being dashed by his either greater love or [lack of dislike+want not to be guilty] when he destroyed the rocket rather than allow... [researcher whose name I cannot remember] to die, and Red XIII suposedly being the last of hius kind (though due to eventsw in the 500 years later video, he apparently found someone). Even Kimahri had a somewhat romanticv backstory, some girl from his village you find out about in X-2, unless I;mn mistaken and thinking of someone completely different. In general, I feel this sort of thing could be explored more in side sotries, but has been explained above the necessary minimum for a reasonable or better game.

PS: I know it is an awful pun, but Fozzie Bear and Wakka belong together. I mean,. Fozzie obviously has a crush on the guy, he's always saying his name (either rim shot with laughs or trombone with groans from the audience)
