Hey guys, I'll try to elaborate on that Alex.

So far there's been no word from developers about summons so it can go either way, but in some trailers there have been scenes where monsters that look like past summoning beasts from other games appear. This is all speculation though and as the game draws closer I'm sure we'll find out more.

Some of those beasts that have been "seen" include Ifrit and Shiva, there were some more but I couldn't quite place whhat they were.
