Default Booze talk

Okies, after talking lots about absinthe in the game section with Firesnake, I decided to make a thread about it, so everyone can talk about alcohol!! Which is the best, and which sucks.

Here are some of the other alcohols I like:

Red wine (mulled too)
Amaretto (yummy almond stuff)
Malibu, esp with pineapple juice
Apple sourz
Tia Maria
Schnapps
Baileys....

That's all I can think of for now, but I'm sure I will agree with lots of other people's choices, it's all good!

Oooh, Absinthe. I have never had it-some Goth I am.

I am not a big fan of alcohol really, as I always overdo it, and then get myself ill. I have given true definition to the meaning ''wallowing in one's filth.''. Ew.

But I have had my moments, mostly stupors of seemingly stark raving mad bouts of intoxication.

Funny how it took me forever to figure out that one might drink alcohol for the taste, or for mild effect. In any case, here are some that I have tried, and enjoyed.

Smirnoff Vodka, (Not that fruit flavoured crap though.) Johnny Walker and Bailey's.
I also, to this day, enjoy exploring imported beers and ales...I hate all that American and Canadian piss-like beer...but many of them from Europe taste great. Only, they cost so much.

I am by no means a connoisseur of anything in this subject, and although I love red wine, I could not tell superior quality from some shack made nonsense.

I've had my moments of stupor too. Once I was feeling really sorry for myself, so I got a half bottle of red wine, a half bottle of pina colada and a full bottle of Red Square (the one with all the stimulants like taurine in it, tastes like battery acid) and sat drinking the whole lot, whilst eating crabsticks. I got up the next morning (without hangover, I've never had one surprisingly enough) and found the kitchen sink was full of regurgitated crabstick, and had to clean it because my flatmate said she had done enough by putting me to bed! Ew!

I think a nip on special occasions is really nice, it's all I can really do now I have a little one to look after. It's one of the reasons I look forward to Christmas!

Ooh so what is Johnny Walker then, a spirit? It sounds like a whisky, which just makes me think of Southern Comfort and JD (I love JD but even a small amount makes me feel woozy). Yeah, and Smirnoff plain, on rocks, very nice.

I don't know much about beers, but I do agree the American ones are really weak, though Bud is nice on a really hot day. My brother knows more about European beer, he loves it in Germany and Belgium. And UK beer is just stupidly over-priced!

(claps) Like the poem Tidus!

I like the sweet cider, sometimes with black to make it extra fruity. Hee hee my brother's out now doing the townie chav thing, I bet he comes home and does something stupid again! Last week he barged in, pissed on the toilet seat, set the bath running (3AM!) and went to bed. He almost flooded my house, lucky I woke up, and he didn't remember a thing!

Ooooh Scotland fan! England have gone completely down the pan, you guys might have a good chance!

And Firesnake, what is this mysterious concoction of yours? Sounds yummy!

20 20 now that's something I haven't tried, it looks tasty though. My mum used to drink it a lot.

I wonder if they have chavs anywhere else in Europe, or is it just our miserable island? I saw no chavs in Beijing, so it must be a Western thing at least. Cool I know a couple of Billy Joel songs, he's pretty good. I'm a sucker for some of those oldies, esp after an amaretto on rocks.

I used to make a lot of cocktails when I worked the bars in Barnsley, I got really good at it. I could make some of the more difficult shooters too, like red white and blue. Oh my god did I just admit to living in Barnsley!?

I live in Leeds now don't hate me!!!
