ATLANTA -- Pro wrestler Chris Benoit strangled his wife and smothered his son before hanging himself in his weight room, a law enforcement official close to the investigation told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Authorities also said they are investigating whether steroids may have been a factor in the deaths of Benoit, his wife and their 7-year-old son. Steroid abuse has been linked to depression, paranoia, and aggressive behavior or angry outbursts known as "roid rage."

I cannot believe that they are throwing a bloody tribute for him.

He murdered his wife and son.

Perhaps it was because of drug abuse, depression or what have you, however this is common of many stars, and I am sure the warning signs and behaviors were not lost upon the contractors and all. Someone should have noticed.

I will think too much about it and it shall branch off into many different subjects and insights, but in the end, something that might have been prevented was still allowed to take place.
Why? To make some damned press talk? I could elaborate, but methinks I shall have rocks thrown at me if I did.

Where to put the blame? Drugs? The aspects of fame which often lead celebrities to use them?

In any case, I see naught but repetition in the future of such aspects. Weather because people do not care, or have something to gain from such events.

Drugs are only partially to blame. If everybody took drugs, not everybody would slaughter their wife and son. This man was sick, plain and simple. Anybody who gives that monster a tribute is an overpassionate idiot. I would bet that having to role play a savage as part of his career may have played into some violent tendencies as well.

Indeed, perhaps he took his role much to seriously. I do not really know much about wrestling though, aside that much of it seems a choreographed soap opera then it does combat entertainment.

In any case, I have done drugs; you do not see me running around killing people.
Well, mine is certainly not as severe as his, however I agree about the use of drugs and the evident logic which comes with, that if everyone who took them were to be a murderer, then we would have a serious problem upon our hands.
There are many reasons to consider, however I suppose, good or bad given, that most people will indeed react upon emotion.

I would not have a problem with precautionary measures to be taken, or lighter punishment, or cold and barbaric reasoning...were such events not be so ignored, in most cases.

I do find this disturbing. Im a wrestler myself and can tell you from experience that most of them are honorable people. Blame it on the steriods and he who is foolish or insecure enough to try them.

Not that i dont understand why someone would want to do steriods. I know all too well. I am one of the least fit players on my team, of course i've been tempted. But physical might does not make one a good wrestler. It also takes technique, determination integrity, and perseverence, and on my part, a whole lot of heart.

I understand this, and someone please correct me should I be wrong, but seeing what professional wrestling on television presents itself as, I do not believe that much of it actually pertains to real physical combat and whatever forms of honour may be attributed to it.

I see the matter as baring much of the same aspects as the Marilyn Monroe Syndrome as far as worldwide celebrities and their presentation goes.
