EDIT TITLE: FF Cheat Thread
Copy from taultunleashed
download: h t tp://205.209.161.43:8080/magic cast 1.2C.rar
This program will raise your magic skill ect. it includes a GUI and some extra options including food support, multicast support, and summoner support as well as being able to write text objects on the screen.
I used Windowerhelper.dll, but i had to use another app to act as a medium between the exe and the dll; reason being; im not sure how, or if its possible, to interact with the dll directly through autoit. no memory searching is involved, however it may be in later versions. As of right now, everything is done doing simple calculations, requiring user input (everything is saved to an .ini). Its still is in early stages so its subject to change at anytime. its very lightweight and easy to set up and easy to use. no its not open source.
Surprisingly, this was actually pretty painless; all I did was use the beta compiler and uncheck "UPX Compress .exe Stub" and change compression to "normal" XD

The Game Cheat
Once upon a time in FFIV… fans stumbled upon a truly glorious game cheat. The game glitch allowed characters to double their weapons and armor in mid-battle… as many times as they wanted!!! This concept made the characters immortal in the games as they could create as many copies of swords that they wanted and then throw them at monsters… inevitably inflicting essentially unlimited damage (or 9999 HP as it would be in the gaming world LOL).
But you know what… it was still a cheat. And true fans who did it knew it wasn’t right. The same still applies today, much later, with FFXI. Even if I could understand the entire concepts of the above message, it would still feel like cheating. If the above message is true and allowed then it is an incredible concept, but I’m not gonna try it.
*my greatest Wakka impression*: Booya!

Cheating sucks. I know of this weapon duplication trick, and of course I tried it out of curiosity, but on my gamers honour, I swear that I have never used this to benefit my progress.
Cheats be damned.
I do not really care if this is up or not though, so the other moderators may feel free to do with it what they will.

I've seen this thread on some other sites, and they closed it because they claimed it was illegal, or something. But we're all pretty mature here so I'm easy

Cheating in an offline game is one thing, because you are really only cheating yourself. But cheating in FFXI (which involve player regulation agreements) is another matter entirely. Just don't do it... it's not worth it.
The latest PlayOnline email is a perfect example of why dabbling in these sort of unvirtuous liberties is just not a safe gamble:
PlayOnline Staff
Jan. 24, 2008 03:00 [PST] From: FINAL FANTASY XI
Accounts Banned (Jan. 24)
We would like to report the termination today of multiple accounts held by players involved in the usage of third-party tools or cheats, or engaged in RMT (Real Money Trading) activities.
Based on the results of our investigation, around 10,920 PlayOnline accounts were terminated while around 2,350 accounts were temporarily suspended.
Additionally, we have increased the number of mass bannings against certain PlayOnline violations in order to prevent illegal acts.
Details of the violations are as follows:
- Usage of tools that allow enhanced character movement.
December 21, Approx. 690 cases
January 8, Approx. 480 cases
January 9, Approx. 180 cases
January 10, Approx. 120 cases
January 11, Approx. 170 cases
January 16, Approx. 360 cases
January 22, Approx. 120 cases
- Usage of tools that circumvent game mechanics with respect to the timing of ability use, etc. in certain areas or at points where Notorious Monsters appear.
January 24, Approx. 70 cases
- Using cheats to automatically repeat a particular action.
December 21, Approx. 1,330 cases
December 27, Approx. 1,200 cases
January 9, Approx. 1,070 cases
January 17, Approx. 1,440 cases
January 23, Approx. 380 cases
- Gil and item exchange for real world money.
January 21, Approx. 30 cases
January 24, Approx. 1,420 cases
- Instances of areas or monster monopolization.
December 21, Approx. 130 cases
January 17, Approx. 290 cases
- Usage of synthesis and auction houses for RMT activities.
December 21, Approx. 510 cases
December 25, Approx. 710 cases
January 15, Approx. 1,190 cases
January 21, Approx. 1,310 cases
January 22, Approx. 270 cases
- Accounts from people that were previously confirmed to have RMT connections, or that had violated the user agreements but re-subscribed to PlayOnline.
January 24, Approx. 240 cases
The termination of these accounts has led to the removal of approximately 3.1 billion gil from circulation.
We would like to remind players that as well as adversely affecting game balance, the use of third-party tools or cheats can also have consequences that are not immediately obvious, such as introducing damaging viruses, and comprising the security of private account details. Usage of third-party tools will not be tolerated within FINAL FANTASY XI, and we will continue to severely penalize any players found to be in violation of the PlayOnline Member Agreement.
As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for FINAL FANTASY XI, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the PlayOnline Member Agreement.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and understanding.
It's just not worth the risk. Play honestly, and have fun.

I know that I would feel much more proud if I beat someone or emerged victorious out of something through honest means, instead of devastation through cheating, which lead to an inevitable but hollow victory.
I did not feel so good throwing all my excalibur's around and receiving no resistance, even if I was only cheating myself. But I really WAS curious. XD
And actually MidgarFanatic, your last post is a very good follow up for this thread's intent.
Let is leave it here then, if only to prove ourselves as morally proper!
But seriously, I actually like how this turned out.

Yeah me too. When I first saw this initial post I thought it was SPAM (which I guess it kinda is), but then after I read it I have to admit I actually found it pretty interesting, although I would never have the technical abilities to carry it out.
And yes, I too used to duplicate my excaliburs, not just for throwing but also to sell for lots of money. But I did this when I was young and was only concerned about POWER. It wasn't until later that I realized it made everything feel like a hollow victory.
And while we're on the subject, have they corrected this glitch in the Advance version? I've never tried it on the GBA.

Good thing we mods are much easier than ones on other forums. I saw a thread about FFX where a mod put on a notice saying she deleted a load of posts by people because they were "off-topic". What would this forum be without our off-topic musings?
Though I'm glad you got something good out of this, I was ready to just delete the thing or close it. Keep up the musings!!

*Laughs!* Well, getting the maximum of gold in this game can actually occur way before you even reach level 99, and without cheating.
And yes, the duplication glitch has been rectified for the GBA version.
But there is another weird glitch for this specific port...I have NO idea how it may occur though. Sometimes, in the midst of battle, after having selected a character to use a physical attack, right after he or she is done doing the attack, they will do a second one RIGHT after. So it is like two attacks in a row.
I have noticed that in the few times when it does this, the active bar besides the HP does not deplete while doing the first attack, so it seems that the game does not register that you already have attacked, and so it does it again. Weird.
