I bought it the day it came out, and can't stop watching it. It brought back so memories of the game. I thought Sephiroth didn't look as sexy as he did in the game just more evil, but that voice <shivers>.
The extras were a little disappointing being in Japanese. The interviews I could handle with the subtitles, but they could at least have translated the Reminiscence of Final Fantasy 7 into English. It wasn't until about the fourth time of watching it that I let all the credits run through, and caught the extra bit they did for the second part of the credits. It was an interesting combination. If anyone hasn't gone through the credits, I won't spoil it, I suggest they watch it. You'll see what I mean.
The music is amazing, so much so that I've ordered the soundtrack from Hong Kong (can't wait for it to arrive). I especially love the "Beyond the Wasteland" and "For the Reunion" (haunting). I could listen to those over and over again.
The other thing this film has done for me is inspire me to write. I tried to write years ago, but I'd get a page done, and lose interest. I've got the whole story in my head, and am gradually writing it down. I've got 25 double-sided A3 pages down so far, and more to go. It continues from where Advent Children leaves off. It's like I've been possessed or something.
As to the film, I think my favourite characters have to be Cloud (for his humanous and imperfections), Kadaj (for his sexy evilness surrounded by childlike innocence), and Reno (for his humour and foot-in-the-mouth qualities).
Overall, this film most definitely gets my thumbs up.
