Yaaaayyyy CAKEWALK!!!! Those were the days!!!!!
Although I did start on little old Cubase 3.something, then went on to Cubase 5, Cakewalk will forever have a place in my heart. And MIDI will for that matter!
I've been playing FFIX and have to agree the score is actually pretty spectacluar now I'm quite far into it. Kuja's theme rawks!! They had some clever ways with MIDI back then... (floats away again)

haha, you guys are so funny.
so anyways back on topic... yeah, I remember the MIDI tracks we used to make with our electric keyboard, and we also used to download a lot of MIDI of popular songs. I used to download all the MIDI files from the FFIV and FFVI soundtrack, and I would put them on a tape and listen to them like it was a CD. haha, what a nerd I was.

I don't need to do that anymore for the newer games because now the internet has made it easier to get imported CD's from Japan, so I can usually just get the official orginal soundtracks online. Or of course I have another option... I live in Canada, and we have a huge asian population, so we actually have malls just full of nothing but asian stores, including a lot of electronic stuff which is imported, so I don't even need to go online to get a lot of the Final Fantasy music. It's pretty awesome.

Wow go Canada! Britain is so stuck up when it comes to stuff like that, we really have to rely on the internet. Which would suck if my brother took my connection away!!!
I'm one of those crazy people who can quite happily sit on a bus listening to that stuff. Even my son can't resist it- the first time I ever heard him sing "Roroth!!" (roughly translated to Sephiroth, cuz he's only 2 years old), I was over the moon! He wathces me like a hawk when I play the games aswell, he dances to the battle themes. I wonder if that's a good thing for a little kid....?

Awww I liked the score for FFIX!! Oh well, you can't win them all! Aw hey, I agree that FFVII did have some questionable graphics, but it's great in every other way God they really slam VII don't they?
I agreed that X's battle system was great, it was my first time playing an RPG so it broke me in gently, being able to think really hard between moves. Hee hee Quina was Worst male and worst female!
