Which Final Fantasy game has the best music.

I have no major issues with the music in FFX, but I just can't say that anything has stood out in my mind from that game. It just kind of lingered there in the background and never rose up as a genuinely fantastic score. I'll admit it was interesting, but also a little shocking as well to hear them also experiment with some other elements to the music in FFX as well... such as the heavy metal music used in the opening Blitz Ball/Sin Attack montage in Zanarkand. Dont' get me wrong, I totally respect that you guys like this one... it just wasn't for me. I suppose my musical interests are just more rooted in some of the older games of the series.

Oh, and I have one more beef about FFX... what the hell was with that Yoko Ono music that started up when Tidus and Yuna were embrassing under the moon in that lake. Oh my god dudes, the first time I played that game I had the music up really high and that singing almost shattered every glass in my kitchen. lol, yikes. would of liked an English version of the song there.

Oh well, I understand most of waht you are saying, and I always say everyone is entitled to their own opinion. FFX music is probably just special to me for personal reasons, and of course because they were the first FF tunes I ever heard.

The older games are always gonna have the best music anyway, Uematsu was so young back then!! I would be really interested to hear some of the VIII and IX music get the treatment that the VII music got, that would be cool. You couldn't really do that with the X stuff, because it was already quite complete to start with.

PS. Awwww poor Rikki, I liked her singing. But I agree an English vers would be rather nice, if the words weren't so simplistic in translation (something about walking and clouds). I liked the English vers of "Love Before Time" from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, maybe Suketi Da Ne could have the same treatment? (ooh I can sing the Mandarin vers of Love Before Time aswell)
