Worst movie I have ever seen. This was horrible. I fail to see how demons relate to most ff games, and this was probably a let-down for most fans.

I barely remember watching this movie, but I know I did order it one day through pay per view... If they would have made the movie based on any of the Final Fantasy games, I probably would have gotten into it.
I wasn't expecting much...not even the Final Fantasy anime released in the 90s was that great, but at least it was anime...

i really enjoyed the film although i do agree that it had no relation to the final fantasy series, the only real thing thati could relate to the other final fantasy projects is that the earth is alive and that it can fight for itself.

In theory, this should've been a good movie. It had a well enough plot. But..It was crap. It had to be sloppy and involve sacrafice.
I only ever saw the movie once, I think it was big-screen. It's the only time I ever intend to watch it. I have it on video, but thats because my stepmother wanted it.
The graphics were decent enough, but there were bits of "story" added where there needn't be.
Similar to FFX-2, Squaresoft should've left well enough alone.

I agree, I think the FF name led to way too many expectations about it, as it had absolutly nothing to do with the FF games at all.
In terms of storyline it had a lot of potential - Humans forced to live behind shields fighting an alien enemy with their only hope being a gang of heros tracking down a few spirits to save the world - could have been a good starting point to a bigger story, but they limited it to its conclusion, they alreadu had a few of the spirits and made it pety with all that bickering between the characters.
Had a good potential but was wasted on the film itself - remains one of the biggest "What if they had......"'s in history

apart from the recent advent children, X-2 and the up comming dirge of cerberus how many final fantasy games are the same, i think it doesnt really matter if it had nothing to do with the games because most of the games have nothing to do with the other games, to that point i think that the statement above is completely irrelevant.
final fantasy is whatever we want it to be wether its a role playing game like ff7, a film like the spirits within, or the anime series final fantasy unlimited, they are all completely different and thats what makes them great.
final fantasy unlimited has only one thing in it that relates to final fantasy and that doesnt make it rubbish, all those that havent seen the series should watch it, its amazing.
anyway thats my oppinion.
