The Wii will debut in America at USD$250. It will come with Wii Sports, 1 Wii Controller + Nunchuck, and will reach your doorstep on November 19.

Well...looks like that means that the UK wont get it during the xmas season...worst case now mean we'll be looking for an easter release...just as it was with the Gamecube.

Though I would LOVE to be proved wrong on this ^^

I've been waiting for an official date, I'm glad Nintendo finally gave us something to work with. I'm also happy that WiiSports is coming with it, that was one of the first games I planned on buying. Now I can save my money for MP3: Corruption, Dragon Quest, and FF:CC. =]

Latest news is that it will be region free but with no DVD playback

Good news for me as loads of US games never see a UK release ^^

I think it's pretty reasonable compared to Sony's £425 for the PS3..so I'll be buying the Wii instead I think.

40 odd pounds more expensive than the US version though =/ I was expecting it to retail at around 150, even the gamecube started at 130 pounds

The Euro prices are almost always higher than the US versions by a good 20% or so.

One of things that makes me glad to say I'm over here. :P

Prices were just about to stabalise here as well =/ Just lulling us into a false sence of security it would seem =(

Although the gamecube was anounced at 150 then dropped to 130 the week before release so I still have some hope ^^
