Dragon Quest VIII - Final Fantasy Net

Who here has played "Dragon Quest VIII." Its a great game that has a great storyline that gets better as you play on. The grephics are super awsome and gamplay is fun as heck...The only thing that sucks is that it took me three months to beat...What have you guys got to say about this game?

well, just like the seven games before it, dq 8 is another one of those HUGE rpgs to tackle (think 100-150 hours)

dq is a lot of game, rewarding, fun, etc. this one in particular is especially fun because, hell, just look at it. the visuals are toon shaded and look great, the battles are smooth, plus the story is actually understandable/good. it just takes a hell of a long time to level up (blahblah) but that minor complaint aside, i love dq 8 and will definately look forward to 9

i think it took me about 85-95 hours to play all the way through but after you beat it there is still tons of extra stuff to do........and i never even heard of the series untill eight came out so i dont know much about the series.

I bought it a couple of week's ago.
It's pretty decent, although I don't think it can beat Final Fantasy in term's of Gameplay. Plus, the villain is a clown. *Cough-Kefka Rip-off-Cough*
I'm currently in the Dragovian trial's as well with 80 hour's on the clock.

i didnt bothr with the Dragovian trial's. i was just glad to finally beat the game. Also why did they make rapthrone look like a fat june bug with a human head.

I haven't played it yet, but i've heard good things. I liked the 7th one it was fun.
Here's a little fact. DW is bigger then FF in Japan. Those silly Japanese.

Well to me its no-wear near as good as any FF, but it still is a game that should be played by every RPG fan.

Yes the series is not as good as FF in my opinion.
I really wan't to play it, but I spend my money on better things.

I only got it for the FFXII demo but then i got bored and found out how good of a game it really was.......its worth buying.

this game is amazing. the visuals, the gameplay, the storyline, the battlesystem, everything. its a wonderful game and my favorite in the series. btw, how many of you guys have learnwed gigagash? hecka bad move! (for the hero) i have over 124 hours into the game, and i just finished the castle trodain thing. hella sick game, im too obsessed with training....really high level....i think 57....
